Your Niko was such a beautiful boy. I know your heart feels so heavy, but I also know how filled with love it will always be for Niko. My heart breaks for you. I don't know any way to prepare oneself for the loss of one so loved. I hope that beautiful memories of Niko will replace the sad ones you are now feeling. I am so very sorry for your great loss.

Niko was one of those super sweet "old souls" who touched many lives. He loved life, and was blessed with a very long one. I am grateful for that and all the wonderful memories of him.

Sandy,

My first dog was a black schnauzer names Betsy. I had to have her PTS in 2006. So began my love affair with dogs. It took me almost three years before I could say her name with becoming completely hysterical. I had her cremated and she rests on my bureau in my bedroom. Many days I still "talk" to her, but it does get a little easier as time goes by. I am so sorry for you loss of your precious Niko. ((hugs))
