My first dog was a black schnauzer names Betsy. I had to have her PTS in 2006. So began my love affair with dogs. It took me almost three years before I could say her name with becoming completely hysterical. I had her cremated and she rests on my bureau in my bedroom. Many days I still "talk" to her, but it does get a little easier as time goes by. I am so sorry for you loss of your precious Niko. ((hugs))
