Still missing Scoop after 6 years My friend Sheila had a Yorkie named Scoop who forgot he weighed only seven lbs. as he barked as if he were a German Shepherd. I met her when she came into the tutoring center for help with a presentation, which she entitled "My Own Personal Hero." I helped her find examples of dogs we usually think of as heroes, such as St. Bernards who rescue people trapped in the snow, or Roselle, the gorgeous retriever (Yellow Lab or Golden) who guided her blind owner down 178 flights of stairs in one of the Twin Towers on Sept. 11. Scoop was her hero simply because he showed unconditional love. He died at the age of 13, and six years later she still misses him terribly. Because she does not have internet access, Sheila is entrusting me with telling her story and finding breeders in Rochester, NY. No dog will ever replace her beloved Scoop, but she believes that his spirit is watching her and that he will love his new brother or sister.

So Sorry for your friends loss. Please tell her that Nothing can heal the heart better then a new Puppy love. She might consider a rescue as nothing is more grateful then a rescued dog. | |

I still miss all of my babies that are now at the bridge. They will always be in my heart. Tell your friend that Scoop will always be alive in her heart but they doesn't heal the hurt that I know she still feels.

Dogs are your unconditional friends, and they never should be forgotten, yorkie or not. The only good thing about losing one, is that some day you will get a new one.

Please tell Sheila I am so sorry for the loss of Scoop. We will never forget our furbabies in our lives. I lost my little girl Keally this past January and the pain of sadness is so hard to deal with. Yt has helped me with my loss and I just got a yorkie puppy this past June. She has filled us with love and only happiness. Keally would of wanted us to go on and give another a wonderful home. Hopefully you go on and get another furbabie which will brighten your life everyday. RIP Scoop Susan
