| ![]() I am so sorry for your loss. I know what pain you are going through. John Wayne knows you love him and will always have a special place in your heart for him. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

| ![]() Your John Wayne sounded wonderful. im so sorry for your loss, and know that the new one wont replace him but maybe John sent him your way to help ease your grief and let you know that its okay to love another one again. I bet John will love the garden you are making for him! Just remember that he knows you love him, and miss him and i think that talking to him still helps you out, and lets him know you are thinking of him. I truly believe that those we love and have passed on can hear us talking and praying to them. Best of luck to you and your new baby! he's lucky to have such a loving mom as you!

| ![]() First of all, I'm so terribly sorry for your loss! Speaking from unfortunate experience, when you bring a dog into your family, they become a family member and their loss is as tragic and painful as any other family member's loss would be. When I was a child my first dog was run over by a car, as my father walked her in our yard (attended but not leashed). It was horrible and soon afterwards my grandparents gave me a new puppy. I too, made sure that she was not a replacement, as that's not possible. But instead, this new little one is the embodiment of all of the love and compassion you still have to give! In time the pain will lessen and you will be able to look back and think of John Wayne and the good times, without feeling the pain of his loss so vividly. Do not feel guilty and do not feel as if you don't deserve a second chance! If nothing else, remind yourself of the wonderful life he lived, and the goodness you were able to provide for him! People (and animals) come in to our lives for a reason, while no one wants to see them go, sometimes they do and you just have to simply know that too was for a reason. I most certainly believe that he is in doggy heaven, looking down and smiling at you and your family. Know that my thoughts are with you and if you need someone to talk to or just a virtual shoulder to cry on, there are people (like me) that are here for you! |
