I am so sorry to hear that Alfie passed today. His condition is similar to Sophie 13 yo. (PTS January 23, 2007). Her little chest was filled with fluid and could hardly stand. I believe she had a tumor, but was too fragile to have surgery. May you find comfort in the link I am sending you. There will be many days ahead that you will question your decision, but we must be the voice of our beloved pets. Sophie is the pup with full coat and short, silver hair taken just before she went to the bridge. Thank you for your pictures of Alfie and he is a beautiful pup.

He was absolutely beautiful and looked to be so warm and loving. My heart goes out to you. I pray my precious Chester was there to meet him on the other side of Rainbow Bridge.

Oh, Rose..I'm so sorry you had to go through having to make that decision but I'm sure comfort comes in knowing you gave Alfie 14 years of love & happiness and we can see that in his pictures..thanks for sharing them and your sad day with us...we're all here for you

Thank you Deborah for your thoughts and for the rainbow bridge link. Watching it, as well as reading all of the kind thoughts posted here, is both difficult (as the pain is still new) and comforting in helping to bring closure. I am so thankful that I found this wonderful site to have so many yorkie/dog lovers to share my joys...and who understand the pain that I am feeling today.

Yes, I really wanted to include some pics of Alfie. The first is of him as a pup when we first got him, the second is him with the only kind of toy he really ever had any interest in; luckily they stayed in fashion in order for us to buy him new ones as they wore out. The 3rd is him and his christmas stocking. It was always fun to watch him actually dig all the goodies out and then run off with them. The last is one of my favorites pics of him right after a hair cut that I gave him.

I miss him soooo much!
