Hi and welcome to YT. Congratulations on your little one. She must be so adorable. My Hot Rod is APRI as well and Maggie May is AKC. I did not plan on breeding or showing either so it didn't matter to me really other than I thought that AKC would be a bit more reputable as far as legitimate breeding standards. What I mean by that is that at least there was more of a chance that all was on the up and up with the breeder. Can't wait to see pictures of lil miss double dipp chocolate Truffles. (p.s.) if you hit the quote box on the bottom right corner, you will include the post that you are responding to. fyi.

| She sounds like a chocolate, which is not rare but seems to be the next "fad" in Yorkies. APRI has gained a lot of respect over the last few years and dogs that are APRI registered can now be cross registered with AKC if you provide 4 generations of pedigree. The rule of thumb for adult size is supposed to be double the weight at 12 weeks or if she's older they are supposed to be 75% of the way grown at 6 months. Note I said "supposed" there are always going to be exceptions. The thing I love best about my Yorkies is they love me with all my faults, I'm sure yours will be the same |

| If it makes you feel better, I have been "fooled" everytime i have purchased a dog! I have done everything you are not supposed to do...Bought dog thru newspaper ad, meet folks at truck stop on highway, did'nt get registration papers, bought from backyard breeder, took puppy home at 7 weeks blah blah blah.... But i have got to say it has not diminished the love i've had thru the years from these dogs!! I also have never had a pet that "meets breed standard"! Would i have loved them more if they were picture perfect examples of their breeds? Nope. Does it bug me that i've fallen for every trick in the book ? Yep. But such is life. So i say just love em for what they become not what you expect em to be! Not all of us are show dog quality! Me included!!! lol!
