| Pet Friendly Weekend Getaways in MI Hi there - Just wondering if any Michiganders could help me and my boyfriend choose a place for a weekend getaway where we could bring Deegan with us? We obviously want pet friendly accomodations (that possibly has doggy day care too in case we want to go out to eat or or something like kayaking). We love the outdoors so Deegan would be come with us when we go to the beach, hiking & biking. I was thinking about Traverse City, but if anyone has gone there with their furbaby I'd love to hear about your trip. And I'm open to other places too.

| Michigan can be a very boring state. There are a few things to do though. Have you thought about going to Sleeping Bear Dunes or Mackinac Island? I have never stayed at either place but there should be pet friendly hotels around and maybe a daycare at Sleeping Bear. In the UP we have the Tahquamenon Falls and Pictured Rocks. I'm guessing dogs aren't allowed at either place but it might be worth a call to find out. There is also a small mall in MI called the Mall at Partridge Creek. The walk-ways are outside and dogs are allowed. They are only allowed in some of the stores. It is boring and I wouldn't plan a vacay around it but there is some other shopping in the area also, so it might be nice to stop if you are passing through. I'm not so sure I would board my dog anywhere around there though. I just looked at Sleeping Bear's site and dogs are allowed in some areas.

| We love The Residence Inn by Marriott, I don't know if there is one in Traverse City, but worth looking for.......... they DO allow dogs and have a "apartment" like atmosphere. Shelby & Seymour love to travel and stay there!! They are always really friendly and also put a magnet on your door that says....... "Pet In Room" to alert the cleaning attendants and in case of emergency.

| When we go on vacation we like to rent a house. It is really about the same as a hotel and many allow pets. VRBO.com is where we find them
