| Input appreciated I got my Gizmo at a really good deal from a local breeder. The breeder advertised him at $350.00 with papers and $250.00 without. She told me she was normally selling them for $800.00 but was going out of town and was offering a deal. I opted to buy him without papers with the option that I could get the papers if I wanted to pay the extra $100.00. I didn't find this site until after I bought Gizmo so I didn't have all the great info at my hands and the reason for my following question. When I saw a Yorkie for this price, I jumped on it, I'm ALWAYS wanted a Yorkie but couldn't afford it. I was so happy when the breeder said she had one available! I didn't ask questions, I just didn't want her to sell him, as there were others calling about him. I contacted the breeder about getting his papers, she emailed me back and said he was WWKC registered. His mother is WWKC and his father is AKC. In reading this site, I'm reading not so good things about WWKC and I'm wondering if I should get his papers? Any advice you can give me on this will be deeply appreciated! TIA! |

| I'm sorry, i've never even heard of wwkc. As for the breeder, by going out of town did she mean moving???

| IMO............If you love him and don't plan on showing him then I would not stress out too much about it. Having his papers are not going to make him any better/worse of a yorkie. You now have the tools of YT at your hands and the info that you can and have learned here. So if you are ever to get another yorkie you will be better prepared and know what questions to ask and what to look for. If you have the extra $100 and it means a lot to you to get the papers then do it, but if not then really don't stress over it. Papers or no papers Im sure you love your furbaby very much! Post some pics so we can see what a cutie he is! Good luck! |

No, she is not moving. She is just going out of town for a few days. She has 8 other yorkies and didn't want to impose anymore on her children having to watch them while she is out of town. She only had two left that she was selling at that price, the female sold before I contacted her. Gizmo was the only pup she had left. WWKC-from reading on here, it's the World wide kennel club.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do, I'd like to see his blood lines. Gizmo is my avatar picture. It's not a very good one, I'll take more. I took him to the groomers yesterday but had to make an appointment, so he'll have to wait. With what I've read about WWKC, the groomer made me feel better. She raises yorkies and when I told her what I paid for him, she said I stold him.

| My last two yorkies came with papers, and I did reg. them both through AKC, I really don't know why I did reg them, because Ichabob was neutered at 6 mos and I am planning on neutering Wicket when he is a little larger in size, IF you are planing on showing or breeding then I would paid the extra for the papers, If you have no plans to do this I would not brother, we also have an AKC black lab, thats had papers but she was spayed and my son never sent her papers off. |

| I have 3 yorkies, all were available to be AKC registered, but I never got the papers. I wasn't showing or breeding them, in fact, they are all fixed, so what good were the papers to me. In the past, when I purchased other dogs, I would send out for the papers immediately only to put them in a draw and never look at them again for years.

| Naw, you don't need the papers. You got a great pet, for a great price, and you're happy with him! It's not worth the extra $100! Welcome to YT!!!

| I never heard of that registry, but as long as you're happy with him I wouldn't worry about it.

| First of all, a huge welcome to you and Gizmo. WELCOME TO YORKIETALK Here are a few of my random thoughts: Registration papers are only as good as the person trasnferring them to you is honest. A dishonest person can easily forge papers.... If you love Gizmo and are happy with him, then the papers are secondary to having a healthy happy furchild. Just enjoy your little guy and understand that the breeder might not have been as honest in selling the dog as you were in buying him. |

| Thank you ALL for your advice! I think I'll save the $100.00 bucks I've already spent near $100.00 on his grooming needs, collars, etc. He's at the groomer's now, I'll post some more pictures when he gets home "I miss him"...lol Oh, on the plucking of their ears When I first heard they had to be plucked, I about cried. Is there any less painful way to do this??? I was told no And, thank you "all" for the warm welcome! |
