I have two, and I'm a clean freak so I'm always cleaning or washing something. I keep the boys clean, I bathe them once a week and they get face and butt washes everyday. I clean my carpets once a month. I wash their bedding every week and stuffed toys when needed. It's alot of work, but well worth it to me.

I am, by no stretch of the imagination, a clean freak. I do everything possible to keep cleaning to a minimum. I have all hard wood and tile. I have a Roomba vacuum cleaner (he vacuums by himself, with the furguy chasing him)!!! I vacuum and dust every other week - and use dry citrus swifters in between. I mop my floors every week and clean the bathrooms and change sheets once a week. I have scrubbing bubbles in the bathtub/shower. You press the button and it cleans the shower so it is easy to clean. All counter tops are completely cleaned with disinfectant once a week and just wiped down in between. Every week I will do one extra project - like do windows, clean radiators, wash kitchen cabinets - or sometimes I will do a really small project - like go through the magazine rack!! All in all, my house is clean but I don't stress about it at all. Life is to short and I would rather take the furguy out for a long walk than clean something!!

Thanks for sharing everyone. Im afraid I dont have any more time to clean than I already do, but I do admire those of you that have or make the time. I disagree though that I would ever let my dogs come before people. I adore my dogs but I want a house people want to be in. My daughter had a piano teacher for several years who had a dog and a cat and a beautiful house, but it stunk so bad of urine. I know she must have realized it as she eventually started burning strong smelling candles which only made it smell worse. I just dont ever want people to feel that way about my house. Getting the hardwood will help. I actually dee clean at east once a month now but worry if that is good for the dogs with the carpet cleaning chemicals. I think they have ruined my furniture also which is only 2 years old. I thought I was being smart and bought a dark sold color couch which ws rated washable thinking I could keep things cleaner like that Unfortunately, there are little white spots all over which will not come out and which I believe may be little drips of urine. They are only where the dogs lay down and someone said that urine would bleach out the fabric in that way. I have no proof, but nothing else makes sense. Thanks again for your advice.

I have never noticed a smell from my dogs nor have my guest. My friends say how come your couch don't smelll like dogs? I have a blanket on the back of my sofa where they sit/lay to look out the window. I wash it about once a week along with their crate bedding.
I rarely find any hair. I give them both a bath once a week with mink sheen.

I have 3 myself and that's a constant concern of mine, we live next door to the Dog Park, and it seems like they track every bit of sand and dirt into the House. I dust and sweep every day! Spray Lysol, Fabreeze and I even burn Incense when possible, they don't like the smoke/smell! My BF has to mop the floors @ least twice a week and I have to vacuum the area rugs every other day too! It seems never ending.......I bathe them twice a week since the 2 of them have long full coats w/c attract dead leaves and sticky pine needles and my 1 yr. old (their 4 lb. puppy) loves to dig tunnels, occasionally
swims and rolls in every stinky pile she can find? I'm a clean freak and sometimes it seems so over whelming, it's a constant job to clean-up after them but some ones got to do it? When I do have company over? I always ask them if my House stinks like a Dog?
