| Want to try making clothes for my yorkies...don't sew...any recommendations 4 machine Hubby has decided that we have or should I say "I" have been spending a lot of money on doggy clothing lately and doggie stuff. Hubby thinks "we" could make our own doggy clothes, simple shirts. I want to check into getting a sewing machine and no nothing about them. Any recommendations for a beginner. I want one that is not so basic though that "we" out grow it and want to step it up some. I would like to be able to do names ect on the shirts too. Any advice would be great! Thanks

Please pm me, I bought one to voluntarily teach children in our area to sew and it is really nice and not expensive, it is perfect and has many nice features. I would be happy to pm you back and tell you the one I bought for them to use. I invested in an Elna many years ago, very expensive it has held up beautifully and really did pay for itself but I use to make all my clothing and even dress pants for Jack, draperies and curtains, you name it One doesn't really have to have one that does monograms, it is easy to do names and writings without that, just take the stich foot off and put on a narrow zig zag, with it set at short stitches, place fabric in embroider hoop, with fabric facing facing flat side down, and off you go. I use to do this many times in doing my machine embroidery and it is so easy you can widen the zig zag to accomodate what ever you are doing and it does beautifully. I think a sewing machine is the best investment one could make. I am hoping that I will be soon be back to sewing, have tons of fabric and something planned for each one and then of course so many things to make for the girls. You are doing great in wanting to get a machine. Patti and Jack and girls, | |

| Good Luck with that... I've made a few basic dresses and a harness vest before and they take me so long to make so I just normally buy clothes. I can't imagine trying to make shirts with sleeves and buttons and all LOL
