| ![]() All 3 of my yorkies have beautiful long tails and I wouldn't have it any other way, here in the UK it is illegal to dock tails and I am very happy about that ![]() |

Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | ![]() Im from England and they dont dock a yorkies tail over here so Poppy has her long tail.. she did break the very end of her tail though so I can see why docking them would be a good idea seen as they are very livley when pups and can easily hurt themselves.

Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | ![]() I dont know how she did it. I put her to bed one night and her tail was fine, woke up the next morning and it was bent on the end. I took her to the vet and she set that its common in small pups with long tails because they are so playful they can easily have an accident, but she wasnt in any pain as she didnt mind people touching it and the vet said that because it was right at the very end of her tail then it wasnt dangerous and she shouldnt even notice it. She said there was no point trying to straighten it because it would cause her distress so just to leave it as it is ![]()

YT 500 Club Member | ![]() I have one with and one without I love them both my mom however hates Siennas tail she says she dosent look like a yorkie i think Siennas tail is so funny it looks like a pig tail it curls all the way around onto her back and then the tip almost curls around another time she also LOVES to chase it She gave from useless people that didnt know about tail docking or dew claw removal. She is going to end up needing her dews removed because one is really detached but im going to wait until she needs teeth pulled so she only has one surgery. Oh and I forgot to mention the very best thing about having a long tail..it makes lifting there tail to clean there bottom soooo much easier

| ![]() I love Jackson's full tail and am sooo glad he has it. His tail tells me so much about how he's feeling. Tucked under his legs when he's really frightened, sticking straight up when he's in alert mode, wagging like a flag when he's extremely happy, etc. Dogs communicate thru their tails as well. I hope that it is banned someday in the US but I'm sure we'll be the last country to follow suit. When I first got him, I didn't even realize people actually docked dogs tails. I didn't know much about the yorkie standard and thought it was normal he had a tail. I knew Rotties, etc didn't but I always thought they were born that way, LOL!

No Longer a Member | ![]() Goodness, well I'm glad she is okay. Strange how that happened though, even stranger that she didn't make a noise loud enough to wake you from it... I love Rizzo's tail, it's beautiful and like everyone else says they communicate so much through their tail movement's ![]() Quote:

| ![]() Just to respond to the no-tail by birth issue..... with our litter of Australian Shepherds last summer, we did have one with a "natural bob" tail. We did have it docked though along with the other ones just because it wasn't quite the right length. In his case, it actually runs in the family. His daddy was born a "natural bob" also. That's actually a choice on the registration forms (with ASCA - Aust. Shep. Club of America). Docked, not docked or natural bob. We originally were selling one pup to someone in Germany and she requested that we not bob that one. She ended up buying two though - although the one was already docked. So, yes, natural bob does happen.
