Two Male Dogs living under one roof

I have two intact males. One is 2 years old; the other is a 6 months old puppy that has been born and raised here. Though the 2 yo is not his father/stud, he may as well have been as he has "raised" this puppy.

As everyone said, when the girls are in heat-all the rules change--doesn't matter, neutered, intact, too young--all boys are separated. Lots of racket.

Oh, this is great to hear, I expect my little fellar to raise all hell for me bringing in a second puppy, but this week he is being pampered extra special because when next one comes this individual pampering will have to be shared lol. I expect them to play tug with the zillion toys I have for this one. I hope the yorkie learns the potty thing from this one and they sychronize soon. also the snuggling as I like this furball to sleep in his soft bed in his basket near my bed. So I really am hoping for the best and CANT wait to get my little yorkie

I think what most of you forget, theses are Terriers first and foremost!
Second..if there are breeding females anywhere all males should be seperated NO MATTER WHAT, because it is the responsible thing to do, period!! I have never had a stud fight, but im not ever gonna be IGNORANT or ARROGANT to think I never will, no matter how sweet and submissive the males are MOST OF THE TIME, where there is a female in heat all bets are off! ALSO when females are in heat that too can ignite a bitch fight...once these things start they dont stop...doesnt matter if you spay/neuter it still WILL NOT HELP, if theyre breeding adults!!

As a breeder the safety of your dogs male or female should be your concern not the threat if they dont staighten up their out the door!

to the OP your pups are young theyre just setting the pecking order...if you get them neutered young this should never happen in a pet home.

They are BEST buds, get along great with no problems. They play hard, don't fight, and couldn't get along without each other.

Males can leave together, you just need to establish yourself over them and make sure they respect you for that. We had the boys meet in the backyard and then once comfortable with each other, we let them inside...it worked great for us. They do mark outside all the time now, but they are really great together!!

Will they sometimes mark inside? I do hope not

So then you are breeding them? I wonder how it goes if they are not around females freely? I dont like to let my dogs mingle with the people in my street as some are just plain rude and when my dog goes for a walk and is trying to poo they PUSH their stupid half breed mutts on him and disturb his pooing. I usually pull him off and tell them please, cant you see he is trying to use the bathroom? They are like my girls wants to meet him WTF

I just love your dog, it looks like a Biewer yorkie . Well what I want to know if this, if two are still in tact as where I live they do not neuter until they are a year old, so I have 6 months on the yorkie before I can do this. What happens if I leave and go to the store? Will I come back to find one dead puppy

I have two neutered boys, Benjamin was almost 1 and already neutered when Malachi came along, Malachi was neutered at 6 months.

yes, it is only when the girls are in heat as everyone else has said, things get crazy so you should be just fine with your new puppy.

Yes - You most likely will run into this problem of marking - if not neutered

Where do you live that they don't neuter until 1 year old?

TJ was neutered at 6 months as a lot of Yorkies are neutered by 6 months - I have even heard at 4 months. I like it is best to neuter ASAP - as you don't want the hormones to start flowing and you'd want to avoid Cancer, the start of Marking everything and humping as well.

I live overseas. My current puppy has been humping since I brough him home at 11.6 weeks old a day before the 12 week. he humps until he is about to collapse LMFAO. I have bought him big big soft plush toys and I named them HUMPY so when he feels bored and wants to hump his bed I tell him go get HUMPY and there he goes off to his humping job

What breed is your first dog?

I am not fond of humping. I know that it is a natural occurance, but I'd rather it not be going on in my home. But I know a lot of people that it doesn't faze them at all
