I totally agree with you. A big guy walking a tiny yorkie is not common. Yorkies fit better with women but my husband loves to walk her and I am sure he is not gay, but I am sure that many girls approach him to see and play with Kissie. But I'm not jealous. hahaha...

I think if your goal is to get a phone number, then the woman is gonna be smart enough to realize that you're just a loon who's so desperate for a date that you'll buy a $1,000 dog and take him for a walk.

But if your goal is to walk a Yorkie because you're really into Yorkies, then who knows? Some girls dig Yorkies. You dig Yorkies. It might work!

Haha, i think it'd be cute, plus especially Yorkie owners would love to strike up a conversation with you. my bf loves walking the yorkie, and girls will come over to pet her... so... it does draw up some attention

LOL! I'm sure a Yorkie (or any dog for that matter) would open quite a few doors for you. Just remember though... just because a woman opens her front door for an encyclopedia salesman that doesn't mean she gonna let him inside the house.

Also, the other day I was walking Kalina and I walked past the house being renovated on my block. Two big construction workers were walking down the sidewalk, work boots, hard hats, big tool belts around the waist. Well, Kalina went nuts when she saw them and had to be petted by them. Last but not least, there is a commercial for a dating service that shows a good looking guy holding a little Yorkie. Definately warm and sensitive if he owns a Yorkie.

Oh I have to add... I locked myself out of my house a couple weeks ago! and I had to call the fire dept. Well they came in their big truck, 4 big guys, and when they were trying to 'break in' my dogs were doing nuts... they asked me if they were dangerous (they couldn't see them) and I laughed and said "oh no, one is 8lbs and one is 5lbs". Finally after about 45 mins and a lot of swearing they got in and to see 4 big firefighters sitting on the floor playing with my boys telling me how adorable they are... well it was pretty freakin funny!!!!

I do too! I smoke, but never EVER around my dogs... not in the house, nor do I pick them up when Im smoking or let them on my lap ... I feel too bad for their tiny little innocent lungs... but that was a pretty funny comment!!!!

I can't be around smoke at all. But good for you for at least being careful. My parents smoke around their poodle, and poor Shelly has some terrible respiratory problems and is aging way before her time. I'm sure it's because of the smoking. It's just so hard to be judgemental towards 80 year old people that can't "go outside" to smoke and can't quit. It's just very sad. Try to quit if you can, and if you can't take good care of your furbabies (and family).
