| Fleas, do they ever really go away? I need a little help. I have read a lot of threads on fleas here on YT, and I swore I got rid of them, but I can't seem to ever kill them all! I thought for sure my pups were flea free but just this week I found two TINY little ones on Tina! I have washed all of our linens, sheets, used home sprays to kill them, used shampoos on the pups, even shaved the pups to make them easier to see! But somehow or another a random one will pop up out of nowhere. It is nothing like when we had a full infestation at our old apartment, and I did everything I could to try to not take them with us when we moved, but I must have missed an egg or two, because they still haunt us probably once a month! HELP!!

| I have not found one flea on either of the outside dogs all year, I have the golden retriever on revolution, and the shepherd is on sentinel(I like the sentinel better)..the sentinel is a one time a month pill and prevents heart worms and kills fleas..the inside dogs are on revolution and haven't had any fleas either |

| I use frontline for my larger dogs and Cat, Bella get's revolution. I was just reading a thread in health and diet forum about apple cider vinager and it's uses and it might be something you would benefit from using with your pets to help keep the fleas under control. They really can be difficult

| Mine are on sentinel and frontline and neither are working very well. If you go outside anywhere they come in with you. Alabama is horendous with fleas but my labs that stay outside don't have any! Of course there's no grass in their pen either (they turned it to dust). I haven't found anything natural or not that kills the fleas

| We used Revolution for this first time this year all summer long and we didn't get ONE flea!! It was WONDERFUL!! In the winter we just go to a regular heartworm without flea meds.

| When I see a flea, I am right on it like a bird on a bug!!!!!!!!!!LOL I use Zodiac flea and tick shampoo, spray and bombs. This product works very well and lasts a very long time. Fleas can hide under your carpets and behind baseboards, so if you can bomb your house, it will get rid of them. Thats what I am doing this week because of scorpions. Its alot of work, but worth it. Good luck, Lynn |

| Altigger Are you sure you're using sentinel? It's a pill, and you don't use anything else with it? I've had my shepherd on it (down here inSC where it's warm most of the year) and she hasn't had one flea, never have even seen her scratch |

| In our area this has been a terrible season for them (humid long summer weather!). As a groomer I see them more then your average person and the only thing that is really working is advantage, here. I have clients form the US (I am in Canada but my shop is 3 mins from the US/Canada border) that have been using Frontline and here it is not appearing as effective, why I am not sure. I feel bad for my clients though, they are really upset that the fleas seem to be immune to the products (I cannot blame them!!) What is really frustrating is I have some clients who refuse to use anything like Advatage claiming it has too mnay chemicals, meanwhile their poor little dogs are INFESTED!! The risks of fleas vs. chemicals to kill fleas is a no brainer to me, IMHO, I would rather take the small risk of a reaction from Advantage or such then the damage fleas can do to a dog.

| I spoke with my vet about using the sentinel and frontline, the sentinel sterilizes the eggs and larva and the frontline kills the already adults. problem is that these fleas have had a few years to really become immune to everything since we have not had a cold enough winter to kill them. I want to use the advantage but I have to order it, no one carries it around here. I have bombed my house but the vet said that I would have to bomb every week or two weeks because it only kills the adults doesn't phase the eggs.

| I hate fleas too and with 3 pups and a cat, it can be a nightmare. All of the furkids are on Advantage, but I just had to bomb the house and I spread Sevin out in the yard and watered it in. I comb all of the animals every night to check for fleas, and, so far, it seems to be alot better now. I'm praying for cold weather, but I live in Central Florida and it never gets very cold for very long here. Yech!!! I have been told that squirrels coming into your yard really causes alot of flea problems. Haven't discovered a way to keep them out of the yard yet though. They frown on BB guns here (just kidding) . |

| I have used Frontline for years, but the fleas have gotten immune to it this year for some reason. I had to switch to Advantage for my cats and K9 Advantix for Lady. I also had to treat my carpets with Adams Carpet Powder (not spray). It's hard to find, but I read years ago that it was the best one and I agree. It's the only one that works for me. Knock wood, about 10 days after I treated the carpet I finally stopped seeing them. |

| I use advantix and I have an exterminator spray the inside and outside every three months. Its not as expensive as you might think, only about $50 every three months. I've never even seen a flea since.
