| I'm taking a poll... I wanted to know everyone's opinion on this situation. I have the whole write-up on what's been going on in this thread: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=96713 So, my question now is. . . Would you insert a tummy tube or give him back to his mommy and hope he survives? He doesn't do too well off the IV. Has anyone had a tummy tube before?? |

| I did read your original post and felt so bad for you and your pup. If it were me and wanted the pup to have a chance in life I would put the stomach pump in. They do that in humans also so I was not shocked when I read it. I would wait until he gained some before placing him back with mommy. He seems to need that starting chance to get going. Hope all is well with the inside of his mouth. Maybe he can't suckle for some reason. Prayer's coming your way for him to survice and be fine. Your really going through alot and I hope and pray he is ok in the end. Poor baby. |

| This must be so hard for you. And expensive. I, personally, would give him back to the breeder since she said she is willing to take him and since you have school, etc. It would just be the best thing for him IMO. Don't beat yourself up over it, I know it's painful. Fortunately, time does heal all wounds and maybe that would be the best for him right now.

| First I would like to say that I am very sorry for what you are going through. It must be extremely hard. I agree w/the other YTers as of yet, I too would give him back to the breeder. Best of luck w/whatever you decide. You know that all of your YT family will support you in your decision! |

| I would give him back to the breeder even though it would be hard. It will be harder on you if you keep him, and something bad happens to him.

| Well I guess this won't be an option now as I was supposed to give him back yesterday and he started eating little by little for the vet and for me. Although, he kind of quit on that this morning, I'm still a little hopeful that maybe his mind may be changing about food. Also, I contacted the breeder yesterday about not wanting to bring him back just yet as he was starting to get a little better and she informed me that someone was interested in the brother and she would like to sell him, so I don't think it will be an option to get a new puppy. I'm not really sure if I wanted to get a different one anyway. I just hope mine progresses as he has been and I can take him home. |
