| I use one of those wire crates for gizzie when i am at work, at first i was a little skeptical but i bought one that is for a 70 lb dog and she is only 2.7 lbs so she has plenty of room for her bed and her food and water bowls plus a potty pad some toys, she actually likes it, i just say gizzie go to your crate and she jumps right in, plus it feels great not to worry about her getting hurt or into something she isnt supposed too.

| I have been real lucky with Max, he didnt do any chewing. He did want to sleep with us though but hubby tosses and turns and he was afraid he would hurt Max. Max was born in one of the Large dog crates and they put a shelf in the back so mom could get away from the puppies and they had it next to their couch with a cover over it like an end table. One day hubby found one at a yard sale and we fixed it the same way and I bought Bird feeder bowls that attach to the door and he has his toys and everything right there and that is his house. He is only crated at night and he gets a cookie and goes to bed no problem. I put it next to my bed so he is right there and he loves it. He has free run the rest of the time.

| Luvs Lulu Donating Member | I would give them seperate crates until the new baby learns the rules about pottying. They as they get older and the new baby is ready you can put them together in a nice big crate so they can constantly keep each other company.

| Miko and Emma have basically the whole house to run around in...We have a baby gate by the door so that when we come in, neither of them run outside and we have a baby gate at the dining room. Other than that, they can go anywhere they want. Our whole house is puppy proof, but they don't chew on furniture or anything. They play with their own toys.

| we crate ours also, I feel better if I know they are safe in a crate, then having free roam of the house, to many things for them to get into and also I can't supervise their playing gets a little rough sometimes. I would feel worst if I can home and found one them hurt while I was away. |

| Conner is in a wire pen for large dogs. We have his bed, food, water and toys in the pen. He looks forward to going in his pen in the morning when I go to work. He feels more secure in the space with his things. If we got another puppy, I would get another cage for the new one.

| I don't crate Shooter and Emma. The only time they get into anything is if I leave the toilet paper where they can get to it.

| Bella sleeps in her crate at night and is in the x-pen during the day while we're at work with her toys, bed and water. I think it's safer for our babies to be in a confined space where they can't get hurt. Granted, I'd worry about what damage she could do if left unsupervised but I'd worry even more about her safety. Dogs really are creatures of habit and really don't like change so if you've been using the crate I would keep it up. We keep our lab in the crate during the day (it's a very large crate that she can move around in) and I decided I wanted to let her out in the side yard during the day so she could get more excersize and after about a week I gave up because she would go straight to that crate and didn't want to go outside, it's become her "safe place".

| Hi I don't crate Tootsie or Teddy either, they have the run of the house, not to say we haven't had some mishaps. They also pull the end of the Toilet paper roll, and just run with it. What a mess! But I am home all day, so I am able to keep an eye on them. Teddy & Tootsie's mom |

| Just a little info of why it is good idea to train your little furbaby to at least learn to be crated. We were taking care of Hubbys mom, in Calif. and at that time I had two rescues (Maltese mix and a Yorkie) and being they didnt know the house and they were a little scared we crated them at night. They were near our bed. This house was old and if a fire started it would have caused terrible damage. We had fire exits and hubby said fire starts just leave and leave everything behind. Well, in my mind my babies would be with me no matter what. Knowing animals panic in these situations is another reason that I crated them. One night it did happen the fire alarms went off and everyone scambled to leave the house. I jumped up grabbed the crate and out we went. The damage was not bad but it could have been, but standing watching the fire rescue put out the fire, I looked down and I did have my babies, so I always crate my Max at night because he will come with me no matter what. The crate is handy to grab without having to look for a scared baby and they are safe with me. Just a thought when deciding to crate or not.

| I put Diddy in his crate while I am out. He is only 7 months old and who knows what his curious little fur butt would get into if no one was there to tell him no. I am hoping as he gets older he will be able to roam around the house. Right now I am afraid he will get hurt. I bought a crate big enough for his bed, water, and toys.

| Both of mine are crated when we are not at home and it works out great. I had planned out letting Dior free roam when she turned 1 in August, but she decided to peel paint off the walls and pull up the thread on our berber carpet a cpl days prior , so she will continue to be crated until i think she is ready
