| Donating YT 7000 Club Member | I don't see a reason for you to bring your pups with you. It's just a horrible combination with people who like to shoot "little things" and little dogs. and also, yorkies were originally bred to chase and kill rodents, that instinct is still in them. it's SO easy for them to get away in a split second. Just...dont' do it. I think hunting is a sad thing anyway. but to each their own, I suppose.

Many a hunter has been shot and killed during the hunting season and they were all dressed in orange. I am also sure many other animals have been killed by newbie hunters. My father finally gave up hunting in Michigan due to all the accidents and the crazy things he witnessed. I remember one year where so many people were killed a reporter had a picture with 10 deer killed 15 hunters.![]() I would also add would you take a 2 year old skin baby out in the woods during this time? I believe our furbabies deserve the same consideration.

| I may have put this the wrong way. I dont hunt, only the boys in our family do. The girls and kids stay at the camp all day long while the men go hunting in the woods. I wouldn't be taking them out into the woods, they would be on a lease at the campsite the whole weekend, and also to add I am LDS(morman) which means I DONT DRINK, do drugs, or get involved with anything that would impair my judgement (same goes for my family). I didnt mean to post this to get others opinions about hunting, I just wanted to know what I could do to keep my babies safe. I may have just needed to expand alittle more to help everyone understand. But thanks for the help.

| I hope you didn't think I was talking about you with the drinking but the other hunters who do drink. If you staying back at camp I would still make sure your furbabies are dressed in orange and never, never let them get off leash. They would have a field day running through the woods.

| I have seen some cute hunters orange and camo things at PetEdge.com We live way out in the woods and when deer season starts, it kind of sucks (sorry, lack of a better word there) because when we want to walk, on our own land on our own hiking trail, we have to wear orange just because you do not know who is out there and which why they are shooting. So, Mojo has this kind of stuff...not that he really needed it (because he is never running free from us and we have it one), but just because it is cute! I think people were shocked by your first post...I know I was.....the getting bored and shooting little things....YIKES!!! We don't deer hunt, but I know lots who do and it is just like fishing to some. WE are all different and have different hobbies, but the people I know will camp and they won't shot unless they see what they are shooting at and it is the correct size. They also, do not shot for the thrill of it....they actually eat the deer (give the bones, hooves, etc) to their dogs, etc. BUT I couldn't do it...YUCK!!! Sitting at the camp, I think it would be good for the little one to have orange on...even though I am sure he would be next to you the whole time. I wouldn't let him wonder far from camp just because of snakes and ticks and such! Have fun camping!

| Won't he be terrified by the shots, even in the camp? Maybe he would feel safer at home |

| What about taking some of that hunter orange tape that they use to mark the woods ... it's kind of vinyl... tie it on their harness...like a flag? deb |
