| Please read! It is good to know there are good people out there. We see so many crimes against animals and it is like a breath of fresh air when we find out about rescuers. This link http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8270313/site/newsweek/, is to newsweek online and this is the story of a man who is making a difference in the lives of many pets...i wish there were more people like him in this earth. God bless him..

| You're absolutely right. What a sweet man. I wish we had more like him... ...and less people who are irresponsible with their babies. |

| Imagine what the animals will do when HE walks by the Rainbow Bridge one day! I have chill bumps thinking about it! I've been on my soapbox about puppymills and rescue for such a long time, this gives me hope and inspiration! The ignorance of people who don't spay/neuter constantly amazes me! (not talking about breeders!) There is a yellow Lab/Heinz 57 across the street from me who has just had puppies. I'd bet my house this dog has never had a shot or gone to the vet for any reason. She wanders the streets and they mistreat her. Just what these classy folks needed was a few more dogs, huh? One of these days she is going to end up in my car going on a long trip to a better home where somone will take care of her and respect her for the wonderful creature of God that she is!

| Yes, I have a good friend who lets her cat have kittens before the old kittens are weaned. She gave them away until she couldn't find a person to take them. She took one batch to a park and dropped them off. I have done everything to try to encourage her to spay the kittens. I would even pay for it. It just drives me crazy. I did hear a funny story from a girl who asked her husband to take all the cats to be fixed (they were on a farm and had a bundle). He decided to save money and had the boys neutered. We had such a laugh over that one when the next mom came up pregnant

| What a great read! I remember going to the animal shelter about 2 years ago (before I had my yorkies). I was looking for a dog to bring into my family. While I was there, I saw a cage that was covered by a sheet. I asked the janitor why that one cage was covered. He lifted the sheet to show me....a pregnant pitbull. Her tummy was HUGE. I immediatly said "wow looks like your gonna have puppies any day now". He turned to me and said "unless she has them tonight, she's not having them at all." I didn't understand what he meant at first. He continued to explain, that first thing in the morning, she's scheduled to be put down. I immediately teared up and started yelling. How can they kill a pregnant dog??? Apparently the janitor had been figting for her survival as well, but his hands were tied. There was nothing he could do. I stormed out of there and called my local news stations, and peta. To my surprize..NO ONE CARED! How can people be so insensitive, I thought. The next morning, I showed up to the animal shelter again, VERY early. The SECOND the door was open, I burst in there looking for her, just HOPING she was ok. I ran to the back and to my surprise the sheet was still on the cage. The janitor remembered me and came to me as fast as he could. It turned out that she did infact have her puppies overnight. HER LIFE HAD BEEN SAVED! They cannot kill a mother who is nursing puppies!!!! I burst out in tears and was laughing so loud. What a miracle! She made it!
