| Household Cleaners Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone had any safe suggestions for household cleaners. I usually use Pine Sol or something like that to clean my floors but I know that it is not good for little Reese. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks, Chiara

| I use Mr. Clean or Lysol cleaner and dilute it more than normal. Otherwise you can use a little vinegar in water to clean. It smells bad kinda but it wont hurt the doggies at all. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | It really depends on your floors - We have a flooring biz - so here's some tips - Vinegar and Water are safe and it does work. smells REALLY bad though for a while - but it goes away - Best Choice for Tile floors For my tile I use different things - Vinegar & Water usually - sometimes I mix Natures Miracle in the water - and sometimes a touch of bleach for when Cheri was potty training and not getting it for 10 months....I also use a Windex type sprayer but always rinse it off - it really makes the granite shine. Wood floors - Wood floor cleaner Carpet - STEAM CLEAN ...or direct contact on accident with Natures Miracle |

| I just use swiffer sweeper mop that comes with it's own stuff. I haven't noticed any problems with Coco being high or anything..haha...it has no smell so she's not tempted to smell or lick. I work at Clorox and if you dilute most of our products they are safe (please don't take my word for it, my boss told me this when I got Coco). Research it.

(Click here to read about this email rumor.) Here is some transcript from the site... Procter & Gamble, the makers of the Swiffer line of cleaning products, insist that their product is safe for pets in their "Swiffer Q&A." "Question: Is Swiffer safe for animals? What if my pet licks the floor? "Answer: Great news for you and your pets! Swiffer Wet and Swiffer WetJet are specially designed to not leave a residue on the floor, so there's no need to rinse. We suggest you make sure the floor is completely dry before letting your pet walk on it, though, because wet floors can be slippery. Since there isn't a residue, there are no problems if your pet licks the floor. "No more worrying about the owner of those muddy paw prints. You can enjoy the convenience of our Swiffer products without any worries for your pet's safety." Furthermore, they specifically address this rumor: "Let us assure you, this rumor is completely false. Our Wet cloths and WetJet liquid solution cleaners do not contain antifreeze or any ingredient similar to it. "We have pets too and their health is very important to us. All our products have been evaluated by internal and external veterinarians and scientists, and Swiffer WetJet and Swiffer Wet cloths are safe to use around pets. "We hope you’ll help us put an end to this rumor by letting others know the truth."

| Wow, I guess it's true that you learn something new everyday... I had no idea pine sol and other cleaning items were bad for pets. It didn't even occur to me. (I will have to do some research.) . Thanks for the info. I love YT!

Val - I heard that rumor about Swiffer also about 6 months ago...never checked into it but it makes sense that they wouldn't be selling something fatal to dogs or cats or people would really be speaking up - look at Hartz products though - it took YEARS for them to finally take them off the market - so it's kind of scary because I don't know if companies are more worried about their image and selling product than they are the welfare of millions of cats, dogs and other pets in the home | |

| Thank you all for your suggestions. I too use the swifer wetjet and heard from a coworker that it is very harmful to pets. She also told me not to use bleach on the floor either b/c there have been many articles recently about pets getting really sick from it? I even stopped washing Reese's pouch pads in bleach b/c I was afraid it would get on her paws and then she would lick it? I have no idea if that is possible but I love that little girl to much to even take the chance.
