I would have bent down and said, "actually, he's SUCH a good sweet dog sweetie, want to pet him?" and been that overly nice sarcastic b*tch to the grandma. But then again, I have a temper when it comes to someone getting attitude over my babies and they're like!

I am so sorry that you had to deal with that and on his birthday too. How rude!!! No matter what it sounds like he had a great birthday and was spoiled rotten the way they should be. I am happy that she has a bias about yorkies. She does not deserve the unconditional love of a yorkie. Her loss and our gain.

That burned us!!! If I was not afraid that I would warp that grandson for life, we would have given her a piece of our mind. Most LITTLE dogs are just as easily well-trained as bigger sizes. And Yorkies are so damned smart, lol. And Jaxson was just sitting there looking cute while this mean old lady said mean things about him and his kind on his birthday! Grrrr....

But other than that, Jax has had a great 1 year birthday and is getting some puppy ice cream tonight

Well, guess I'm old and prickly, but I would have straightened that gal out right then and there. Cesar Millan is good, but I don't agree with some of the things he does, especially with little dogs. Just because he has a TV show doesn't make him the last word on all dogs. I think the little boy would be better off knowing the truth from someone who has a little dog and knows about them. Why would a grandmother tell her grandson something like that to make him afraid of little dogs? I don't understand people who only feel good when they're putting someone else down!

First of all I'd like to say Happy Birthday Jax!! And i'm truly sorry that woman was so rude to you.. I agree with the other members for some reason it seems that all the rude people hang out at petsmart and petco. just waiting to irk someone off.

i dont think small dogs are a problem... its the big ones you got to watch out for. our yorkies are the sweetest dogs in the world!.

Thanks everyone for the replies!!! You ladies crack me up!!! Some people will never know the joys of having a Yorkie, I suppose!!

PS...If anyone is located in Charlotte, NC, I would love to meet up with you. I've been looking for a Yorkie play group and it's almost too dangerous to do it online with people I don't know....never know who will show up!
