5lbs is still VERY small. If the 5lb dogs was really that much bigger than your 3.5lbs dog, it probably didn't weight 5lbs. Also, weight in itself doesn't tell you anything..it all depends on the dogs frame and if that weight is healthy for that dog's frame. My parents have a small framed-yorkie (short legs, short body) and he is 7lbs...he is overweight and should probably weight more like 5.5lbs. He is a very small dog...just has a round little belly. Lacy is also 7lbs but looks larger than my parents yorkie because she has a longer body and longer legs...she is just at a healthy weight. So they weigh about the same but my dog is really the larger one.

Also, your dog is not going to stay 3.5lbs if she is only 4 months old. She still has quite a bit of growing to do and will probably be 5-6lbs full grown. Still a very small dog.

Said well!...I was going to burst her bubble also, at 4 months old her pup is probably not growing yet.....Mine is 5lbs. and every time I look at him I think he is so tiny, I'm so glad he's not smaller....My word, he's smaller than most new born babies...maybe you should throw away the scale, what you don't know wont bother you

And I am glad she will be a bit bigger than I thought because I have two boys, one 11 months and the other 4 years old...
Life is good sometime.... I wanted a toy dog but life told me that with my two boys it would be better a bigger one They will be able to play with her without me worrying all the time! And let me tell you, Bikini is already strong and loves my two kids... but when she gets tired of kids she runs and hide behind an adult (the closest she can find). It is so cute. She already understand that adult can protect her from kids

People have different taste, that is all. You can't judge people because they prefer one thing over another. I prefered Yorkie`s over all the other dog breeds. But all of my friends that I was nuts to get a Yorkie. They think it`s a small stupid dog. But now I prove them all wrong and slowly everybody falls in love with Bikini They even think my boyfriend will look not manly to go for a walk with this dog... but he always says to them that he assume it And my boyfriend is totally charmed by Bikini. She cuddles him all the time. So he doesn`t care what everyone thinks of him and is tiny dog I am lucky that my boyfriend was ok with me getting my little Yorkshire. All the guys I know want a huge dog because it is more manly
But I don`t judge them because they think a Yorkie is a stinky little dog....

If they prefer 125 pounds dogs and thats ok. But personnally I think huge dogs have the worst smell ever...
I have two kids and they are the cutest to me. But I`ve seen ugly baby`s But when it`s yours you love them no matter what!
It`s a question of preference. When I bought my dog, I wanted the tiny dog because this is what I prefered... and I am allowed to have my own personal taste. But now that I have Bikini, no matter how cute or ugly she will get, I will always love her because she was the greatest addition to our family. But other people have the right to think she is not cute or that it is dumb that I put a bow on her head.... but to me I like it!

Anyway, this was my thought and I think Yorki`s are the cutest And by they way, I am addicted to Yorkie talk

My dog also grew bigger then promised. My fault, I did not research enough. Just like, you I wondered if I still would like him the same when he gets bigger. You bet it - I love him even more. He is 12 lbs. and I do not care what other people comment on his size. I would be ashamed if he would be over weight because it's my responsibility to keep him healthy (of course unless there medical reason for some dogs being overweight). He is not and he is happy energetic lovable dog and still little to me and that is what matters the most. Your doubts will fade away. Trust me you will LOVE her, try to relax and enjoy! You can always get second furbaby the size you want with little research and help of YTers ;-)
