| I'm interested I have seen some of the most adorable little things on this board, but I have a question about the little mixed dogs. Some owners have told me it is Yorkie mixed with Maltese, and some look like they might be yorkie mixed with Lasha or maybe s**tz....am I correct??? Do these new breeds have a name, and how popular is this practice??? Also does anyone have pictures of what they look like as adults??? They sure are cuties, but I still have to go with a pure Yorkie for myself. Like this one http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/att...9&d=1190689034 |

| I just posted to your other thread and then saw this one. I believe that's a Parti colored Yorkie (or a Briewer). Not an expert on those but do a search on "parti" on this site and you'll learn more about them.

| Hey there. I have what they call a Morkie. Tia is 1/2 Maltese and 1/2 Yorkie. Quite a few sell this mix as a "Designer Dog." Please, don't be fooled. It's just a fancy word for a mutt or as I prefer to call her and others like her a "Mixed up pup." The lable them with the word designer and charge and charge high fees for a pup you can easily find in rescues, your local humane society or better yet www.petfinder.com. Don't buy into all they hype. If you truly want a mix then buy it as a mix and check out the humane societies or petfinder. In so far as look goes. Tia is in my avatar. She is light colored girl laying next to Bella my full Yorkie. She is champagne in color and weighs just a bit over 4 lbs. full grown. She's beautiful and has a calm disposition. BUT with that said let me also say that there is NO GUARANTEE what you will get with a mix. This same mixture (Maltese and Yorkie) can look very different not only size wise but also just the look itself. NO ONE can guarantee what ANY mix will look like and a lot of times the pup may look one way when they are young and grow up to look totally different as they mature. Welcome to Yorkietalk and I wish you the best Elaine |

| Welcome to YT. I think a morkie is a maltese and yorkie, and a yorkiepoo is a yorkide and poodle. Those are the only one's I know of.

| That looks like a Biewer...Those are 100% yorkies. They are not mixed with any other breed. Hopefully someone who is very experienced with biewers will see this thread and respond with all the technical stuff about them. Basically, this breed originated in Germany and they are yorkies who carry a certain gene that makes them look the way they do(the white).

| I have what is called a "Morkie", she is 1/2 maltese and 1/2 yorkie. She is nearly two and weighs 4 lbs. When we went to look at her, I had NO idea what a designer dog even was and I nearly had a fit that they were asking $200 for what I would call a mutt. BUT, she is fantastic. She was a breeze to train, has a lot of the yorkie personality and she is my best friend. I haven't ever had this small of a dog, but I lost my greyhound the year before and thought I would give the little dog thing a try. I'm hooked now. So I would consider adopting one! Best of luck to you! |

| Hello and Welcome to YT!!! I believe that is a Biewer Yorkshire you are refering to. They originally came from 2 purebreed Yorkshires named Darling and Fru Fru Friedheik and bred by Wherner Biewer. (my spelling is bad ) Here is a couple pics of a full grown Biewer.

| That is one of my little boys!! He is a Biewer. His mother and father were both imported from Germany. His father has been shown in the US and has done very well. If you are interested in him please PM me and I can give you more info. Skippy AKA Don't Skip Me from Heaven Sent will be ready to go to his forever home around Halloween. |

| I'm actually getting a yorkipoo in a couple weeks (after we get back from our honeymoon yay lol) but there are all sorts of little dog mixes (especially mixed with poodles for some reason). But the other poster is right they are just muts...but they're cute muts and I think they have less genetic problems for it! |

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | Biewers are not mutts nor designer dogs. There are many threads about Biewers on this forum. There is some excellent information on my website and I'll be happy to answer any questions if you email me. |

| Scrapindee. Scrapindee. I just wanted to let you know that I was not refering to your Beiwers as mutts or designer dogs. I did not look at the link that the original poster had - just read her post in which she said she had been told that the cute little mixes were a mix or Yorkies and Maltese. I know you put a lot of work into your pups and they are beautiful Elaine |

| Biewers are a type of Yorkie and are not mutts or mixed breeds. They are full blooded Yorkies with a piebald gene. If you need information on this breed either contact Kathy785 or Scrapindee. They have two litters on the ground, and are just the best informative breeders I've ever met.
