Sorry I feel different about this. Most of the posts have been female. As a male I would have to say that the little b***tard that did this will do it again. Let the law take care of him so he won't do it again. Even if he was fined for damages, at least he learned a lesson. Yes I know faith and all of that, but right now he thinks he got away with it. I sure hope he goes to hell for what he has done, tearing apart families like that. If it were my dog (remember I'm a male), and I did discuss this with alot of my buddies and they all agreed they'd hunt this guy down with or without police help.

Sorry for the rant but justice needs to be served. The lord did his part. Got Maddie back to Denise and family. Also brought Justis to Lewis. But somewhere out there, there is a shallow little pr**k (again sorry for the swearing) that has no problem with what he has done.

Well, I'm female and I agree with Derek 100%! If he was that good an actor, tears and all that, its probably not the first time he's done something like that, and if he thinks he got away with it, it won't be the last time! Hunt him down and throw the book at him!

I logged on at about 12 pm after coming home from school and it took me almost 3 hours to read all the stories, replies and to stop here and there to shed many tears. Denise, I dont think there's anyone in the world that deserved this more than you.I barely know you but in the short time we have emailed each other I have come to learn what a warm and caring person you are.When I read about maddie I cried because like many of us I also know what it feels like to loose a pet.After reading this today I cant imagine how you must feel.I picked up my children from school today, bought them home and sat them down on the computer to read your story.They knew about maddies story but like all of us they never imagined they would read this. I let them read it because I wanted them to see how important the power of prayer is to us.Denise you never gave up on Maddie and Maddie never gave up on you!! Today me and my children have learned to believe in what you feel, even if it seems Impossible.God will make it possible!!

I know exactly how you feel and that was my biggest concern when I proceeded to get Cuddles from her original family (she was about 15 months old). But once she came into our family, it took her a little while to adjust, but in no time she acted as if she was always here. I think that it all depends on the personalty of the dog. It does seem that Justis is well taken care of and well socialized. And from what I read about Lewis, he goes to his ex's house every night to see his child and they also have a small dog, so Justis will have playmate times. And I am sure that they may get together with Denise and Maddie from time to time. I think that he will love and cherish Justis beyond our thinking right now. I mean, the man named Maddie - Paris :p - if that's not a man's thinking this is his 'princess' than I don't know what is (hahaha)

lol I told him I had to laugh when he said paris. cause if maddie wasn't named maddie...paris would be a fitting name, cause she loved to dress up, take pics, and is a total diva...lol

and i know that God has made this all happen, I have no hesitation that God will help Justis adjust too!!!

Derek....i agree with you, but i have to follow my heart. You Go!!! The way you feel is my first instint, but I have to realize what I've been given, and how I need to act accordingly if that makes sense. lol

Its the unfortunate fact of life. Thats why there is police, to get scum off the street. Fake tears and all. My roommate's father is a retired RCMP. I told him of this story. He agrees with me. If he's done it once he'll do it again, if he hasn't already done this before. Its easy money without getting caught. It doesn't take much time to do a police report. But I do respect your decision Denise. I would ask Lewis if he wanted to report this to the police too. Sounds like he was totally crushed when Maddie/Paris left him.

Bonnie was 2 1/2 yrs old when I got her. She had been bred once but didn't have maternal instincts (my sons say it is because she thinks it's all about her :wink: ) so the breeder was retiring her from her program. I wanted an adult because I was originally getting her for my Mother and I didn't live close enough to help train her. Unfortunately as it turned out my Mom passed away before we could bring Bonnie home, so that is how I ended up with her. Let me tell you, I have never seen an animal bond with someone so quickly as Bonnie did with me. She has been my shadow since the day we picked her up 3 yrs ago and has never shown any signs of trauma or sadness. If she could talk I'm pretty sure she would tell Justis that being an only yorkie is AWESOME and that she is going to love her new home!! I can't imagine life without her and I am very glad that there are unselfish breeders who allow these dogs to go into homes where they can be spoiled rotten and doted on as they are supposed to be :wink:

I wonder though...what if the guy that lied to Denise(tear guy) what if his friend was the one that stole Maddie and sold her and just told him to lie to her so she could think she was dead.

I have a Maddie, too. I got her from another YT member when she was 3 years old. The day we got her she was scared to death, and she ran away!!! But, once we got her home she adjusted very quickly. Dog's know when they are loved, and I think almost all of them will respond to that and adjust. Some may take a little longer than others, but I think very few will just never adjust.

Thank you for this post Angie. We are all torn between conflicting feelings for this guy or guys along with what we would do if we were in the position to do something, but most of us aren't. Believe me, I don't like to say what I think of him/them right now. But WE cannot go out and hunt him down. WE cannot fill out police reports. What WE can do is what Angie has asked of us, and she admits how hard it is. We all have witnessed how the power of faith and prayer works.

Denise, I HOPE you are going to print out these threads and give to Lewis to read when he has the time (since he doesn't have internet) I think he should be able to see what we all think about him.

This is my first day on YT and the news about Maddie was the first post I read. I sat there and cried like a baby reading it! Last year my baby Lola got out of the yard and a neighbor found her in the MIDDLE of a busy street close to my house. Thank GOD the neighbor got her and took her home with her so we were reunited. It scared the crap out of me! Soooo glad that Maddie's story has a happy ending too!!! That's awesome!!! :p

I understand your concerns. Though we got Maddie when she was 3 years old. She was retired from breeding due to her lack of maternal instinct (:p) and when we first got her she was kinda freaked. But after just a couple weeks, it was as if she'd always been with us. after Justis gets adjusted to life with Lewis (and from the way he treated "Paris" that shouldn't be too hard haha), I'm sure she'll be OK. :)

As for Lewis...... I have absolutely no words to describe my admiration for this truly magnificent human being. I can imagine how heartsore he was after Maddie went home, and I am just so happy for him that Justis will fill the void Maddie/Paris left behind. How lucky are you, how lucky is Maddie, that she had this Angel of a man to take care of her and love her all this time. Can you imagine how tortured you would have felt if Maddie had been found in horrid circumstances. Now your happiness at having her back can be truly unmarred, knowing that your precious little girl did not suffer (other than obviously missing your family), and was under the caring gentle hands of this Lewis.

We are celebrating with you Denise!! So happy that you are back together with little Miss Maddie!! Lewis must be a special guy to have taken such good care of her. I don't think that Justis will have any regrets being with him!

Well I have not been on YT for 2 days and this is the best surprise ever to see that Maddie is back home!!!! All praise and Glory to God for without him giving the vision to Denise in her sleep this would have never come to pass!!! Yes we have truly seen a Miracle on YT!!!!!!!:) Congratulations Denise on having your baby back home and I just spent the last hour and a half going thru all the posts and what a blessing Lewis is to have done what he did for Maddie aka Paris!!! :) lol He is truly a angel on earth and its wonderful that he will now get a furbaby of his own!!! Look at how God works!!!! Lewis not only has a new love in his life but he also has the love and support of Denise and her family as well!!!! I am in utter amazement at this story and thread and all the love and support we show here for someone who helps one of our YT members !!!! But then again I am not surprised at how supportive folks are here !!! That is one of the reasons I love this site...it is truly more than just a site !!!
Denise you are in the right spirit with regards to the young man who took Maddie and started this entire thing...but look how God took what was meant for no good and turned it into a blessing not only for you but for Lewis as well!!!! I say that we all just pray for this young man and ask God to soften his heart and let him realize that what he did was wrong and that his conscious will make him want to do something good to try to make up for the hurt he has caused Denise and her family as well as all of us who shared in her pain...and this too will be another Miracle to this amazing story!!!!

I couldnt agree with you more about the young college student who told Denise Maddie was dead. You know this still has to be on his mind. I honestly believe that Justis will adjust really well. It may take her a few days, but she will be in heaven, being the only doggie there and I think she will be spoiled beyond belief. She will have undivided attention constantly as Lewis is on disablity, so he is home all the time. How great will that be, home all the time, and probably have a spot worn out on his lap from her sitting on it all the time. My grandpa got a retired yorkie that was 5 years old and "Ethel" was the light of his eye. She actually made him have the will to live for 2 extra years. In the end, Grandpa wouldnt let go until I found Ethel a new home with our preacher no less. 5 days later after she got her home and Grandpa knew she was being taken care of, he let go. Dogs are great healers and put new life into people. In most cases it is hard to see a puppy leave, even though I know they are going to a good home, in this case, I am excited for Justis and for Lewis.
