| Does anyone know about this ?? My sister called me today. Her Jack Russell (4 or 5 months old) Is loosing some teeth. She has been acting ok and eating fine. However, my sister said she is throwing up some, only in the morning. She never noticed this til she noticed a tooth was missing and another loose. She basically wanted me to ask you guys if dogs can have teething problems like babies do.

| At that age, her puppy is losing its baby teeth and the adult teeth are coming in. I know a lot of the yorkies on here (especially the tinier ones) seem to have some teething problems - acting lethargic and in pain from teething. I'm not sure about throwing up, but mouth pain can make you feel sick all over so I'm sure it's possible. I don't know if Jack Russells have teething problems since they are larger than yorkies, but I'm assuming some could have teething problems.

| They can have problems with teething, but I'd call and check with the vet.

| I know when Cody loses his teeth they usually bleed a little just like when kids lose their baby teeth. He may be throwing up from swallowing the blood.

| Thanks everyone. I will tell her what you guys said. It's just odd that she is only getting sick in the morning. My sister is hoping that she will be able to find one of her teeth when she looses more. Is it true that most dogs swallow them? Its so great to come here and be able to ask about anything.

| Most dogs swallow them. I have had two puppies of my own, plus a handful of foster dogs that have teethed in my house and I only found one tooth from two of them, 3 or 4 teeth from Slade, and none from the rest of them. Maybe swallowing the teeth is upsetting his tum.

| another thought.....If her mouth is sore from losing the teeth she may not be eating and when she wakes up she's sick. Cody has done that before.
