| just got a new puppy! ok everyone... so after weighing the pros and cons, i finally got a puppy! i was wondering if eveyrone could give me some advice on a new pup. he's about 11 weeks old, male. when i took him home, he threw up twice in the car (the owner said it was because he got car sick since he's never been in a car before) he's been really scared.. hiding underneath the futon.. i gave him some nutrical because the owner said he probably wouldnt eat much. i also bought him a squeaky toy and a bed for tonight. any other tips for what else i should do? also, i noticed that when he breathes, it's a little wheezy. not sure if this is a puppy thing... or what. im kinda worried... any other tips or advice would be GREAT! |

| He's 11 weeks old, did the Breeder tell you if he's had his first Shots and Vet check as of yet?

| Hi....Welcome....And Congrats. We have 2 little boys. They are brothers. When we brought the first one home- he threw up twice. Not fun but workable...lol... When we brought the other one home- he threw up six times. I do not know where it all came from. That felt like the longest trip I think I ever took.( was actually only 2.5 - 3 hours one way.) We did the Nutrical when we got home also. I would just keep things quiet for the first couple of days til he feels comfortable. I would definitely take him in for a well check up and you can mention the wheezing to your vet. But sounds like you are doing every thing right. Would love to see pics. Everyone here LOVES pics...

| do you have a microwave rice pack? I have always given my puppies a warm pack to snuggle up to at night, since they are used to snuggling with their littermates. I also would call your vet in the morning, just to be on the safe side. I find it helpful to put their bed in a corner or up against the wall.(if you don't have a crate). If it is out in the middle of the room, he will feel too vulnerable. Best of luck!!!

| yes.. i have the papers, he's had 2/4 shots and is due next week for his 3rd shot. the father was on premise and i noticed the weird sound he was making as well. the breeder told me it was because he had a small trachea. but i asked if my puppy would have that and she said no. i also noticed that when i first got him, he was shaking a bit. i hope this is normal. when he sleeps, he snores a little too... is this ok? im just so worried. im supposed to be studying but i can't even concentrate because i'm so worried about what he's doing all the time.. lol |

| Welcome to you and your little guy. What's his name? He's just a scared little one, so be gentle with him and let him calm down at his own pace and get used to his new home. He'll be running around like a crazy Yorkie before you know it! Good question on all the vet/shots. Got to make sure he's healthy!

| Congrats!!! My lil Roxy came to me after a 14 hour car ride for her all day. She also threw up from her long drive. Nutrical is great. My vet even recommended to use it for training her. When she does good girl outside she gets a lil and when she is good with her eye drops she gets some then. Sounds like you are doing everything right. Your baby might be a lil shy now but wait a couple weeks. I had a crazy one on my hands. Roxy |

| Hi and Welcome. Winstin is still a puppy and he shakes when something scares him, even if I am holding him. As far as wheezing, that has not been a problem. One thing I did was make a list of things to ask my vet (that was before I found YT) Please ask as many questions as you need. People on here are so helpful. I like the name Yoshi.

| Wheezing isn't a normal sound to be coming from a dog. He could have a respiratory tract infection or bordetella virus. I'd get him to the vet as soon as you can for a good check-up just to make sure it's nothing serious. And if he does have a respiratory infection, you can treat it now before it gets too serious. I hope he's okay. Good Luck with your new baby
