Donating YT 11K Club Member | Shoes on your yorkies I know there was a thread like this before but i can't find it. Anyway i just bought London some shoes for Halloween and i put them on her, she will not budge! lol She just stands there, she even whined a little. Does anyone put shoes on their yorkies a lot? How long did it take them to get used to them? This is something i want them all to get used to cause i walk them everyday and the streets of NYC are so dirty, then they come home and jump on my bed, etc. So i want them atleast to wear comfortable shoes, sneakers. I have seen several dogs wearing shoes at meetups w/o a problem

| Never tried it but I would put a really comfy pair on her and play with her getting her comfortable with them. |

| Try breaking her in with just the little fleece booties around the house and out on walks providing the streets are dry. Then just use a light weight soft bootie instead of thoes harder ones. |

| Never used them ..but I would think they would have to get used to them. Baisy would freeze when I put a dress on her. nothing I would do would make her walk.

| Lacy doesn't like her shoes either. I don't put them on her much except for special events or pictures. They're so cute though so I wish she liked them more. She usually won't move much either and when she does walk, she'll pick her back legs up really high. It's pretty funny. You're supposed to get them used to them slowly. Try about 15 minutes at first, then the next day 20, then 30, then and hour...and keep progressing. The dog is supposed to eventually get used to them. Lacy will usually start walking normally if I keep them on her for an hour.

| I have a couple of pairs but I don't really put them on them because I don't think they are very comfortable in them. Plus they usually pull them off with their teeth. |

| Mine just hate shoes, no matter what I do. I've left them on in intervels, building up and still nothing. They look so uncomfortable, I just take them off. But I'm sure all dogs are different and some wouldn't mind the shoes so much. |

| Lola doesnt like them when i first put them on her, she flales around like a rabbit having convulsions, walks on her fround or back legs and then gives up. pratty much the only time we put them on her is in the winter if i am going somewhere or taking her for a walk, the salt can damage their little pads on the feet.

| I guess it's the same as getting them use to wearing clothes. The more you do it the faster they'll accept it.

Donating YT 11K Club Member | Yea i guess. When Teddy was a puppy i put booties on him and at first he was walking all funny but then after a few minutes he was running around like he didn't even notice them. He outgrew them tho and hasn't had a pair since, so im getting new ones

OMG...that picture in the red dress is TOOOOOO CUTE!!!!! The shoes are so adorable! I've only tried to put a pair of boots on Max (I got them with the BEST of intentions; we were going up to N. CA during the winter and before when we were there, he did NOT like going out in the rain, so I thought this was a great idea ). )....once and then I got a softer pair for Christmas...he did the same thing with both of them. He wouldn't move a muscle. One pair he just stood with one of his hind legs straight up in the air and stayed that way until I noticed he was frozen in time and space! Here's a photo of him in the first boots I got, LOL. He looks like he either has to go to the bathroom or he's being punished And the back ones look like skis b/c he kept trying to get them off
