| Hello All! Hi everyone! My name is Angela and I am a new Yorkie Mom to Harley. I joined Yorkie Talk so I can meet other people who are just as crazy as about their babies as I am mine! Plus I have tons of questions and someone suggested this site! Harley will be 12 weeks on the 21st. He is already super spoiled, lol. We are still working on potty training, and he prefers my hands than chew toys?! Does anyone use Royal Canine? I am thinking of switching his food to that. ( He is eating Bil-Jac now, but I'm not sure how great it is? He was on Canine Caviar when we we brought him home, but its really high in protein, and I read that if a food is too high in protein that is hard on their kidneys? Any advice here would be greatly appreciated! Harley and I look forward to chatting with you all!

| Welcome to the YT! This site is very addictive I must warn you... There's always so much good information and resources here... Your food choice is important. You need something that has a good amount of protein & fiber... Im actually in the process of switching Meka's food (Iams) which I've read on this site isnt very good - so you'll have to research to find what works best for your pup. Also, as I am learning - potty training is an endless process with Yorkies... So be prepared! Im "pad" training Meka, but I also take her for walks so that she's "cross-trained"... Hope this all helps a lil - and congrats on your new furbaby!

| Hi and welcome to YT. You are going to loose hours in your day being on here! Mine are on Royal Canine Yorkshire Terrier and Sensible. Our choices are very limited here, but they seem to do well on it. I give Y T for a few days then Sensible for a few days, it seems to stop them getting bored with one kind of food. Good luck with potty training, yorkies can take a long time, but they are so adorable who cares??

| Welcome! I fed mine Royal Canin puppy 33. They loved it because of the tiny morsels and it was easy to eat. The problem was, as adults they were hard to transition off it. They refused all the other foods I tried because the morsels were too big. I finally discovered Solid Gold "Just a Wee Bits" which they love. Someone on here posted a list of quality dog foods (rated with stars) and I was shocked to find my beloved Royal Canin on the 3 star rating (not that it was bad...but Solid Gold is 4 stars). I will try to find that rating post and repost it here.
