| Yorkie is not a bird..Warning I have a very large bird feeder in the back yard and on Monday I caught my Yorkie gobbling up the seed that the birds had pushed out. Well, he first vomited on my lap then he seemed happy and he ate his dinner and I thought no more about it until about 1 am when he started to upchuck everywhere, bird seed,he was even pooping bird seed. My Dh also had furtilized(no weed killer) and I think he got some of that with the bird seed. He sure was a sick dog. To-day he's back to normal and Dh has been told no more furtilizer in backyard So a little word to the wise NO BIRD SEED |

| I am so sorry your dog was so sick. How scary! I don't know that I would put a bird feeder in my back yard. I have heard that the dogs can catch diseases from the bird droppings. And then of course there is the bird flu. Be careful! I would make sure the dog couldn't get anywhere near it or the seeds or droppings.

| Sorry your yorkie got sick....if you still want to feed the birds I would recommend putting some kind of decorative fence around it if possible....some of the seed on the ground may have mold on it from laying there in the rain and dew and that can make him very ill.....

| Coco loves to eat the sunflower seeds my cockatiel throws out of his cage. Never thought about it not being good for her. Will it harm her?

| I'm glad your little Toto is OK! Does this mean with the appearance of the tiny wings, he will be migrating for the winter?? If we see him as far south as our home .... we will let him curl up next to our Toto [girl] near the fireplace!!

| I tried the bird feeder myself but all it did was create a mess and attract huge crows, I also removed mine...I only put up bird houses now, it's cleaner....
