| I was in Wal Mart this week buying two baby outfits so I could cut them and make dog outfits. When the clerk rang them up there was a message not to sell them. She put them under the counter and said I couldn't buy them. I asked why. Another clerk came up and said that they had been recalled. So unfortunately some baby clothes seem to be affected too. I would be really careful buying anything made in China these days. I am looking for things made in the USA only but it is really hard to find them.

| These are Toby's favorite toys....he's gonna be sad when he finds out they're in the garbage. Guess we will be taking a trip to the store tonight to get replacement toys. Thanks for the info!

| No Longer a Member | I think a lot of this may be being blown out of proportion. Did anyone read this part of that article? "But two veterinarians who saw the lab’s test results disagree. They said the levels of lead and other toxins found in the pet toys should not raise a toxicity concern for dogs and cats. Dr. Mike Murphy of the University of Minnesota’s College of Veterinary Medicine, who holds a Ph.D. in toxicology, said: “Latex paint can contain one-half to one percent of lead, which is 10,000 parts per million. What he (Dr. Lykissa) is saying is that one part per million is a risk. But latex paint is 10,000 times higher than that and we don’t recognize latex paint as a toxicity risk to dogs and cats. I consider these to be extremely low numbers and they are not a toxicological concern for pet owners.” " and earlier in the article, it said: "A dog chew toy, a green monster, tested positive for what the lab categorizes as high levels of lead and chromium. The lab detected lead levels of 907.4 micrograms per kilogram (almost one part per million). Chromium was found at levels of 334.9 micrograms per kilogram. Levels of cadmium, arsenic and mercury were also found in the green monster toy." Which means that there is less than 1/10000th the amount of lead in these toys as found in common latex paint that we all paint our homes with. Basically, there is .000009 percent lead found in the toy. I'm sure there is more than that in the water we all drink everyday. Just my $.02 |

| I just emptied the girls' toy box. There is hardly anything left! Even the GUND baby toys are Made in China. Also the Zanies, loofa's and ALL of their plush and latex toys. The only thing left are the home made toys from Judy from Waco made Angel in the last GE! Thank you JUDY!!! The braided fleece pull is great!!We will be reading the labels on everything we buy from now on. BTW..The Dems in Congress are trying to push through a law that will remove where things are made! |
