| I have flown United and Express Jet with dogs and have found both to be understanding. Liked Express Jet a bit better though. No one has ever measured my carrier. It is a Sherpa on wheels. I think United charged me $85 each way for the dog(s) and Express Jet charges $50 each way for the dog(s) |

Be careful on the carriers; I realized that a lot of the carriers don't have enough air vents when they are stuffed under the seat--before you buy picture that dog carrier under the seat: which way are the air vents? are they blocked by the floor and seat bottom??? I would prefer the puppy fly inside then in cargo--even if it costs an extra $100. Just a suggestion. |

| When my husand was on transfer in Maryland- His company flew me from Texas to Md. every three weeks. I had a 5 lb Poodle. We used a Sherpa with him. Hubby's company used Airtran for transfer flights. They were so fantastic. The air attendants were gushing all over Romeo. They even took him to the cockpit so the pilots could see him. They let me take Romeo out of the bag once we were up in the air. I flew every three weeks for 8 months and never once had a problem taking Romeo.

| No she is saying that she would pay extra to have them inside the cabin with her, before she would put them in cargo. I would never travel with my dogs in cargo. I have sent puppies out in cargo, but always worry. I prefer the new owners come to pick them up or I have flown with a girl to CA to deliver her. Usually this is at the new owners' expense unless I promised to pay for the dogs' transportation costs. |

| I used to take Toby with me on my flights. ALWAYS IN THE CABIN. Please don't put the pup in cargo. I bought a dog carrier that was basically a gym bag full of holes but I forgot where I bought it. Best to look for an airline that can tell you when its not full. I have Toby with me sitting on the seat next to me whenever possible. Good luck with your travels. |

| We drove from Reno to Sacramento and took a non-stop Alaska Airlines flight to Portland to pick up our pups. The breeder met us at the airport. That was 2 years ago. Since then we have taken our two Yorkies with us to Florida, Georgia, Seattle, Mexico by air, and all over by motorhome. We have flown on American, Delta, United and Alaska. My favorite airline for taking the dogs is Alaska. They seem to be the most pet-friendly. |

| I only had a dog flown once in cargo and it was a disaster. The dog was curled up in the corner of the carrier like it was scared to death. I liked flying mine on the plane much better, even though the stewardess was a witch on a broom. She actually told me I had to sit by the window so my bag wouldn't block anyone's way, and if the plane went down I'd be the one that would die. Can you imagine.
