| Is it true that Stewie will not bond with me if I let him and Kallie share the same crate? I have a trainer coming over next week to do an in home eval to get me started on training them since she thinks that 12 weeks is to young for a basic training class. My problem is that Stewie will not take treats so working on potty training is useless. he will not come to me when I act stupid and get on the floor and try to play with him where as Kallie sees it as he opp to attack full force. He cries whenever left alone in his crate but if I put him in Kallies with her they snuggle. The trainer told me that if I did not seperate them then he would bond only to her and not me. I let them both sleep with me last night by accident but it went well and Stewie just wants to be close to someone at all times. As soon as I pick him up he wants to go to sleep. He seems to have no personality with me or the other humans but when you put him and Kallie together then he will play with her.. The picture below shows Kallie having him in a headlock but when I step in then he sits there like a sick puppy that can barely walk. I took him to the vet and she said that he is just a laid back puppy. Does that seem right that he would be laid waaaaaaay back all the time.. I realize that he has only been here since sat but how long does it take them to open up.. Kallie was running things the next day...Sorry so long, any help would be appreciated... |

| Well, it does seem a little odd that he's not bonding with you. Your suppose to be his mommy figure ?!? Meka can be doing whatever and when I enter or call her - all her attention goes to me. I dont really think that letting them sleep together is helping either... Just my opinion, though. Are your pups from the same litter? What do you do when your at work? Make sure to be consistant with em'...

| Well I just started putting them together yesterday, but I am a stay at home mon so I am here all day and I hold him alot and carrry him around alot but if I try to play with him he is not interested at all. He just wants to sleep all the time and seems to want to be left alone by everyone. He does follow me everywhere but if I look down and aknowledge him he will act scared and just look at me and when I reach down to pick him up he lays flat on his belly and ducks as if I were fixing to hit him..No they are not litter mates.. And if I call him by his name then most of the time he will not even look at me.. |

| OMG, Kalani was exactly the same way when I brought him home. I actually thought something was wrong with him cause he was terribly shy and didn't seem to want to interact with us and only wanted to cuddle with Hoku (not play with her, just cuddle). Well, that didn't last long at all - he is such a mama's boy and he loves to play with both me and Hoku! He's still a little shy with strangers but it doesn't take long for him to warm up and then he's just a little clown showing off. So, give it some time Oh, as for the potty training, I didn't have to 'train' him with treats like I did Hoku - he just knew where he was supposed to go from Day 1 and doesn't ever have accidents

| Many years ago I had a yorkie that took a week to bond with me and my then boy friend... now estranged husband lol Rocky is in heaven now! I tried everthing, he would eat, do his business and go back to his bed, he would play with my 2 yorkies at the thime, this was 1986. a wekk later my Rocky was a lovebug and payful andd resposive until I had my real daughter in 1987, that was an adjustment for him, not my other 2 which were older. Please dont despair, he will come around. hugs... |
