| Do they remember their families?? Do our babies remember their Furmoms/sisters/brothers? Last year we went away for a few days to a place that didn't allow dogs - the skin kid and gf came too, so we left CoCo & Coffee with CoCo's breeder (didn't trust anyone else lol) anyway, when we returned the breeder said CoCo played with her mom & sisters all the time, whereas Coffee played with one or two of the others ( she has about 15 in her home) She said Coffee got sad at times (jealous) and then CoCo would play with him for a while. While we were chatting CoCo & her mom both sat on Hubby's lap! CoCo hadn't seen her mom & sisters for about two years, so I was wondering if they really do remember

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | i think they remember by scent because the scents they give off are very similar to their siblings and parents. i am puppy sitting morgan's brother this week and when he got her on saturday it was like they were never apart. they've been playing non stop and get along great.

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | We got Magic from my Aunt and I have no doubt that Magic remembers. When Magic see her mom, Ellie, it is truely a reunion for both of them.....very fun to watch. Magic allows Ellie to correct her and put her on her back....and she had never allowed any other dog to do that to her. But Magic also remembers my Aunt & Uncle & Cousin and gets very excited around them.....more so my Brother who she adores!! And my Silky Captain definately knows his mom, brother & sister as he sees them alot at the various dog shows. I love watching Captain with his mom, brother and sister....they are fun to see together!! Captain also know his breeders and does whatever Bob tells him....he knows that he is the alpha and always respects him. So in my opinion Yes the definately know those that raised them.....furry and human!!

| This is funny, because kalina82's Morgan, seemed to know her brother. I asked her the same question, I think we agreed that they do some how remember...maybe by scent...it sure makes a person wonder!

Donating YT 14K Club Member | Well if they remember, then my London is just a big bit**! LOL I use to take her to her brother's house for visits every few months. The last time she saw her brother, she took him down! So, either she didn't remember or she just didn't want to be bothered with her brother.

Donating YT 7000 Club Member | *shrugs* I dunno! We took Tucker back to his breeder's house to play once, and his Mom wouldn't go near him. and he didn't have an interest in her either. He got on well with his brother, Dewey, but I think they were just playing like they'd play with any other dog.

| Yes they remember. especially if they are well socialized with their old family. It surprised me when i went to pick up Kamikaze that RYoko went gaga over the his breeder because i was so used to him needing to really warm up to people and kinda jumping back if they tried to pet him and he didn't know him. Ryoko also musta played with Kaze before because they started playing around like old friends. , so Yes they remember, because there is no other explanation for it. |

It's a Yorkie Thing Donating Member | I think that all animals know their parents and the parents know their children. I have horse also and I had a mom and daughter that were apart for almost 9 months and it sure was a happy reunion. both had been with other horses during that time and never bonded with any of them. It is just inside all of us to know those that love us.
