| As I said before, my Squeaky is half Yorkie and half Shih Tzu - my Mother-in-Law got Squeaky's sister the same time I got him. Whenever we visit, they greet each other like they know they are siblings. She is a little more fussy than Squeaky and when she "fusses" at him, he turns around and gives her a "Puppy kiss" as if to say "I love you" even though you are grouchy...They are so cute together. When at my Mother-in-Law's, they often stay on her screened in porch. Once, Squeaky was in the den and Sweet Pea was on the porch, she started a little bark and he was trying to get to her so hard, he was slipping and sliding on the floor, barking his little head off. Once on the proch, he went all around the porch raising the dickens and when he didn't see anything, he went up to her and gave her a bunch of puppy kisses as if to ask, are you okay Sis? So, I do think they recognize their "canine family" and I agree it's the scent thing... |
