Positive thoughts and prayers are coming your way from all of us. These accidents are our worst nightmares and no matter how protective of our babies we are we can not prevent them all. Please tell your bf not to blame himself. I have warned my daughter not to play this game with our babies anymore where they run after her and try to bite her socks. At least your story may save some future tragedies. I have every faith that your baby will pull through this. |
I am so sorry this happened to you guys I hope he pulls through! Please keep us updated! (((((( HUGS! ))))) |
Prayers to/for you.... Prayers are coming out for you, your fiance (who has to feel like total crap about the accident) and, most of all, for your little Joey (mainly because he probably doesn't know how to say them on his own behalf). You want blue light...you got it!!!! Just know that the same tenacity that keeps them from getting house broken until they're darned good and ready, applies to their will to live. I have just total faith the little one will pull through! Be gentle with yourselves!! Oh, and by the way, I'd be there visiting the puppy too! |
Update 9:00 PM!!! Oh my goodness - you all are so supportive and kind!! Thank you so much. We just returned from seeing Joey. He is in an ICU here in NYC, so I'm hoping that he has the best of care, which I believe he does. Joey is breathing on his own, and he is in a little incubator. We were able to stick our hands through the incubator's door and pet him and I told him how much Mommy and Daddy love him. He wagged his tail and tried to stand, but he is so weak and he laid back down quicky. The vet emergency unit (a team of 5+ doctors who make the rounds 24/7) said that they are very impressed with how he has responded to his medicine, and that they think that Joey might be able to come home on Wednesday!!!!!!! He, of course, will be confined to his crate and except for peeing and eating, he will have to remain in his crate....oh, everyone....I feel like Joey has pulled through a miracle...there is still a chance that he might not pull through, but it sure seems that he is over the hump. PLEASE keep your prayers coming - your prayers have HELPED so much!!!!! Please keep praying for little Jeoy - Joey needs your love so much. Thank you for caring so much. Alicia and Joey |
I am sooo sorry about your puppy's accident. I just got General Patton last Friday and I can only imagine how sad you guys must be feeling. Let's hope for the best. These Yorkie pups are very energetic and accidents happen. But they are troopers...so hang in there. Bella, General Patton, & Maria |
Great news, Alicia! I have been sending bluelight and prayers all day. Your story really touched me. Saint Francis has always worked miracles: Maybe his name should be "Joey-Francis"!!! Keep the prayers coming, folks!!! jen |
I am so sorry to hear about Joey. All our prayers are with him at this difficult time. Our little yorkies are very strong and courageous, they always get their way and Joey's way will be to recover and get home to Mom and Dad. We will pray for his full recovery. |
I'm so glad to hear that Joey is doing better! He's quite the little trooper, and it sounds like he'll be home again with you soon. I'm elated that things worked out for the best for you. Linus is sending puppy kisses to Joey for a safe, healthy return home! |
I am glad to hear he is doing better. Still praying here on this end.. Hugs to you all, |

OMG your poor baby! I am so glad to hear that he is doing so well! Please update us as soon as you have any news, and know that Lucy and I are thinking about him and praying for him, he is on the road to recovery, he just needs lots of love right now :animal-sm |
We're all still praying for little Joey. Your sweet story about seeing him in the incubator really touched me. What a precious little guy. He wants to be with his mommy so badly and he will get stronger and stronger. Keep us posted! |
Never fear Jesus is near ! One of my previous Yorkies had an accident kind of similar and he pulled through !!! A young mentally handicapped boy hit the dog with a cricket bat full force from the side on his head. Immediately the dog passed out. We rushed him to the vet and he(the vet) said that he definetly will have brain damage cause his eyes are flickering. Needless to say I just prayed to Jesus and He healed my puppy. He came home after 4 days in ICU. I will pray for you and ur doggie. |
Way to go Joey, you hang in there little fella! Guess it did your heart good to see him responsive! We are all still rooting for you and your baby and each in our own way praying and sending positive thoughts! It was really great to hear good news first thing in the morning! Windy and Lida Rose |

We are so thankful for the good news about little Joey!! Our vet believes that the best medicine for recovering babies is to be cuddled in the arms of their Mom & Dad!! Hopefully you will be doing that soon! We will continue to keep you all in our prayers!! ;) |
praying hard for some speedy recoveries. |
Got a call from the vet this morning. Joey is "brighter" today. He is still having trouble breathing because of his lung contusions, but his neurological problems are getting better. The power of prayer is amazing. I will be able to hold Joey in my arms tonight - I cannot wait. I have missed him more than anything. Will keep you all updated on his progress. |
