| diapers???? I've been checking some sites on potty training I know it takes awhile and i'm trying to be VERY patient because the kids, myself and even my husband (who wasn't thrilled about me getting Brody) love him to death . But I have to have a gate up to keep him off the carpet (which my youngest can't get over) i'm bell training so I know when he needs to go etc etc. As far as diapers does it make him not want to go in the house until U take it off or is it so when they go it won't get on the carpet? Also is it possible to train your dog to go outside and inside on pee pads (when you can't be there to let him out). I was a stay at home mom for 7 years and am in clinicals for nursing (my last year) starting back in september. I want him to be able to walk around and interact without having to watch him like a hawk He'll be 5 months on Sept. 9 Please let me know what works for you so I get an idea of what may work for us....

There are different kinds of dog toilets. I used dog training pads at first, but I changed to the toilet because I thought it was a neater system. | |

| Both of my boys go indoors on potty pads and outdoors. Well, to be honest, Coby is only 6 months old and still learning. Reggie, our Shi Tzu, is 10 years old and is completely house and potty pad trained. He loves to go outdoors and does ask to go out. But there is always a potty pad downstairs in a closet for him if no one is home or if it's bad weather outside. I'm hoping that one day, that will be the case for Coby.... patience, patience..... I'm trying to balance more freedom with potty training for Coby. Just tonight, I was wondering if some cute boy diapers would be good for when when we're working on freedom w/potty training and going to other people's houses. So I'm anxious to see what replies you get on this topic.

| No, not at all. Although I've heard some dogs are not so quick to go on the toilet. My Spanky will NOT go outside. We have tried to keep him out for several hours, but no luck. He thinks going outside means that it is time to have fun. If anyone has any tips on how to get him to go outside...please let me know. |

| too funny, similar problem Quote:
We can be out for more than 2 hours and when we come back in, she scurries so fast to the piddle pad ... it's really funny to see .... and she does see Monday poop and pee outdoors ... **sigh** That's what makes these dogs so cute!

| I use baby diapers on Cody, He will not go to the bathroom in them so he will whine to go out. I've tried gating him but he's a climber so gates and playpens don't work with him. He is crated twice a day, when I leave for work in the morning and my husband lets him out when he wakes up and then he's back in the crate later in the afternoon when my husband leaves for work and the kids let him out when they get home.

| still slightly confused.... so using a diaper does make them not want to go in the house. So is this also a way to help train him to pee an poo outside or when I take the diaper off will he start back to going pee and poo in the house . I know, I know this new mommy has sooooooo many questions . Its just that I seem to hear alot of people saying a year and sometimes 2 years later that their dog is still a work in progress (as far as potty training goes), I just want to find a method that works whether its inside the house (on pee pads of course) or outside the house. HEEEEELP Also I have a litter box that I lined with pee pads... should I start using that as well as taking him outside? Don't want him as confused as I am LOL
