Return for Dog of "Equal" Value Some of you have read my post about a breeder offering two "older" puppies (14-15 weeks old) for $100 each because she believes they need to be in their permenant homes ASAP. I read her health guarantee contract which states that a puppy can be returned if the vet finds a problem in exchange for a puppy of "equal" value. If all the other puppies are being sold for $500 and up, that means there will be no puppy of "equal" value. What do you make of this stipulation?

IMO only OK..don't jump down my throat anybody...this is just my opinion. You are only spending $100 dollars for each puppy...it's the vet costs that would be huge if something were to be wrong with them in the future. If they are NOT healthy, don't buy them...even there is a doubt. But since they are almost free (people on here are spending $100 on dog toy/outfits for goodness sake), I wouldn't be thinking down the road to getting a replacement from her...her other dogs would probably have the same problems.

Ask her if she can take them to the vet, and you get the number to the vet and call them. Or either you take them to the vet to check them out. Do this before you buy them, someone on here just did this.

pup It is $100 and she had two...so you have a back up. If both are not suitable then apply it to the $450..if that doesn't work for you, then forget it..I can't throw away $100, but if you can not afford to lose $100, then owning a Yorkie will be a problem...Pat, said gently!

| I'd just ask her, and see what she says.

Well, I have that in my contract. Now, recently, I sold two of my puppies for only five hundred dollars each. You guys know my puppies are three times that amount. i gave both these buyers a health contract. I would replace their puppies if need be with one of my fifteen hundred dollar puppies because that's all i will ever have and I would want to treat the buyer right. I may never have another five hundred dollar dog to give them and that just wouldn't be fair to them.
