Sounds like you are taking the right steps to getting the behavior under control. I hope you are able to convince your family that some terriers are VERY stubborn and strong willed and take longer to learn. But, if your family prevails, I'm beggin you, do not give in and have her put down. I'm sure you could re-home your baby to someone who may have more experience with difficult dogs. I know my father has bird dogs that he sends away to intense one on one training. It lasts anywhere from 1-3 months. I don't think I could be away from mine that long, and I'm not even sure that type of thing is offered for our little ones, but it's worth looking into so that your yorkie can be a contributing member of your family. Good luck. It must be a stressful situation trying to keep her from getting into trouble and keep hubby and family happy too. I hope things work out for you.

Sounds like you're on the right track. But just in case (because I know that family plays a huge role) as many have said, even in the WORST possible cases, rehoming through a Rescue group is always an option. I had a puppy mill puppy (found out late) that we just were not equipped to help. United Yorkie Rescue worked with me and we finally rehomed her to a veterinary couple that had no kids, no pets, and very few visitors to their home. She will never be a "comfortable" dog, but she can now live without additional stress. Hopefully, you will both find your rhythm soon and everyone will be able to be happy.
