| To Young to get a haircut? Dakota will be 3 months old on Monday. And she needs her hair trimmed, especially around her bottom. Is this to young? Her poop is getting stuck to it and its driving me up the wall! She will flip out if I groom her, so I am going to have to take her a few times then I will start grooming her. |

| I don't think she's too young, I start trimming the hair around their bottom as soon as they are home. |

| Has she had her bordatella immunization yet? You don't want to take her to a groomers till she's had that. Maybe have someone hold her while you lift up her little tail and using a scissors just trim the hairs around her bottom. Get her used to you touching her everywhere when she's calm and laying in your lap, that's what I did when mine were that young because I knew I was going to groom them myself.

| No that's not to young. You don't want her running around with Klingons.

| You want your puppy to have had all rounds of shots plus a bordatella vaccine before going to the groomer so I wouldn't take her until after that last round. If the last round is a couple weeks away you might want to go ahead and start looking for a groomer and make an appointment because the best grooming places sometimes book up over a week in advance. For now I would just have someone hold her and try to trim around her butt yourself...just be careful that you dont cut her. I've never heard of a puppy having that bad of cling-ons unless its having soft or runny stools. The stools should be pretty firm.

| I don't think it's too young for you to trim her bottom up yourself, but I'd use scissors rather then clippers...less scary for her. And remember to make it fun...play with her...trim a little...give her some lovin'...trim a little more. You don't want to make it a traumatic experience the first time...or she'll remember that and associate grooming with trauma. Do it slowly and lovingly, and she'll grow to love it as well. Good luck!!! But if you decide to take her to a groomer, choose wisely...again you don't want her to be scared of grooming...it's a life long process!!!
