Velcro harness! I almost lost her!

I've seen them made with just a tiny strip of Velcro which should not be made that way. Every harness I made with Velcro always had a large section so it cannot break free. You can actually pick up a 10 pound dog or larger with the ones I made.
I'm glad your baby was not harmed by the other dog.

You really SHOULD order one of the Silk Harnesses from chattiesmom! They have buckles and they are GREAT!

P.S. - Just wanted to add in that I have NEVER EVER EVER had a problem with ANY of the velcro harnesses that I have ordered from YT members. I DO love them, but I don't know - it is just something in my mind (actually my husband got me worried about the velcro to begin with - it just freaks him out LOL)...I AM a worry wart though and I am ALWAYS wondering "what if this happens, what if that happened" sort of thing. I still buy the harnesses no matter what, and have always walked Tatum with them as she is so small so I don't worry about her having enough strength to even jerk the thing off - but if Stedman see's another dog, he just goes nuts and it kinda freaks me out a little bit so I do prefer to walk him with the buckle harnesses. Nothing against ANYONE - it is just for MY OWN piece of mind I am going to order one for Tatum as well, I do love these things!

Wow iam so glad everything is ok, I would of freaked out, I got my buckle/velcro harness from sonja ( pocomutt) very nice and strong, I really like the buckle for extra safety, And I had it made in a dress with her name on it, Its very cute Thank god lola was not hurt

I think the quality of the vecro is key, as well as the length of the velcro strips. I have one velcro harness that I got from someone that has very short velcro strips on it, and Chloe runs right out of it. It was very secure at first, but now, I think the velcro has broken down a bit, because even a slight tug on it will pull her out of it.

The velcro harnesses I have been making I've never had a problem with, but I won't make the harnesses for the larger size dogs just because I'm afraid of that happening.

I completely agree with Connie. If the velcro is a quality heavy-duty, you should have no problem even with a major puller who is a big dog. The velcro that most of us here use is a great quality, heavy duty that I have difficulty getting undone!!!!

Another caution is with the "D" ring. Make sure it does not have ANY openings, but rather is a one piece welded ring. Ones that are split in the center can work their way out of however they are fastened even if they look secure. The one piece welded ones cannot.

I've always used the velcro harness dresses with no problem at all. I've never had a problem with any product I've bought from a fellow YT'er and I DO love the way the harness dresses look.

keep a harness on and attach the pretty outfit...
no more worries about Velcro not holding ...

although Sonja makes a great Velcro harness and it holds ...
