I completely agree with Connie. If the velcro is a quality heavy-duty, you should have no problem even with a major puller who is a big dog. The velcro that most of us here use is a great quality, heavy duty that I have difficulty getting undone!!!!
Another caution is with the "D" ring. Make sure it does not have ANY openings, but rather is a one piece welded ring. Ones that are split in the center can work their way out of however they are fastened even if they look secure. The one piece welded ones cannot.
