| At this rate.... Im gonna be broke soon lol. This week has been rough financially. First my daughter had to get a physical for school (that was $108 and we dont have insurance). On monday, Prince, Angel, Bandit, Yoda, and Precious ALL get shots and checkups. That's gonna cost $280. Then on wednesday, my daughter goes in for her mm2, DTAP, and polio shots. (unsure what's another $200). So, this week alone is costing me $588 BEFORE my daughters shots. Any of you ever feel overwhlemed from time to time about the prices doctors charge? I couldnt believe my daughters visit was that much. All they did was check her eyes, nose, ears etc. and have her pee pee in a cup. CRAZY! lol Anywho...one thing im curious about is this. Like I said earlier, Prince and Angel are getting fixed on friday. The doctor said I can choose to use a scalple(sp) or lazer. Which do you prefer? How did your baby(s) handle the surgery/recovery? and how on earth am I supposed to keep them seperate when there are 5 dogs in the house? lol Any info would be appreciated!

| Here, we have the "health unit" which is a government-type health office that will administer vaccinations (to humans) for $5. Is there anything like that there? When my kids were young, I'd take them there instead of the doctor's office to have those administered. My 15 yo needs booster shots this summer. Even though I have insurance, I'm still gonna take her to the health unit or the mall where the hospital has an office that administers shots on certain days for $5.

| Heather- I went with the laser. The recovery was next to nothing! As soon as the meds wore off after the surgery, he was back to himself by the next day! That was with a neuter though. I'll be going through the spay procedure with Bunny in the next several months though... Britt has some great info posted on www.mylittlemia.com about the spay surgery. You may want to check this out. It helped me make sure I was asking all of the right questions! Good luck to Prince & Angel!

| We do have insurance, and I think the cost is still the same to us! I think the doctor's just charge more. We pay at least $100 each time we go in, it seems. Luckily I have a very healthy family. The dogs, on the other hand - I am rather figuring to raise this litter to cost me about $200 ea. at least, and that is if they all stay healthy! and that's times 5. Havent done the spay/neuter with mine yet, that's coming up soon, at least for one set (boys or girls). Oh yeah! I didn't think we could keep our guys apart, but when Zowie was 4 weeks pregnant, she began to dominate the household and terrify all pets. We had a cage, but bought another. They are 2x2 unfolding sections that make a 4x4 square. It is easy to move around to the yard, and we just set one side against the wall, and Zowie and pups have a 12 x 4 area, Bronx only gets 6x6. They are about $70 at Tractor Supply or PetSmart. I open one side for Zowie for an hour, then put her in and open Bronx's. It's a bother, but they are tearing each other up, blood and all - it's terrifying. Hoping that will end in another week or so.???

| I think laser is the way to go...My vet said that they bleed less, and that it's safer. That's what they did with my Miko, and he recovered very quickly. |

| Oh I know!! I had cervical cancer and had to have surgery. That alone was $7000 PLUS meds and time missed from work. What a nightmare. Doctors gets more and more expensive. I go every 3 months to get a shot from my doc and that costs me $100 a pop JUST for the shot. Im not charged for an ofice visit thnk god. Im thinking about applying for medicaid. Atleast for the kids!!
