| First Days Home...Couple Questions Hello everyone! Well the day finally came and my Lola come home yesterday. Everything has been so great! She completely fits her name...so sassy and energetic! I can hardly believe all that energy is in her little body! There are a couple things that are kind of concerning me however...she has been scratching her neck? She doesn't do it constantly but at least a few times in the last two days. I tried giving her a bath with dawn (for fleas...just in case) but she still did it afterward? Maybe I didn't leave it on long enough or maybe she is allergic to the food the breeder has been giving? I am planning on switching to either Canidae or Wellness. My second question is about her hair. It seems that the hair on top of her head is a bit thin? She has pretty tan roots so it looks even more sparse since the ends are black. I don't mind it at all but just curious if this is normal? I tried doing a search and saw some threads about yorkies going through coat stages...she is only 9 weeks...is it too early for her hair to be thin? Regardless she is GOREGOUS and I am so happy she is finally home but just want to make sure it isn't anything I should be too concerned about? I'm taking her to the Vet on Thursday so I will also make sure to ask BUT thought I would come to the pros here . Any insight would be great. This is my first pet so I could just be an overly anxious mom! |

| Welcome and congrats on the new baby, neighbor! The itch might be fleas, skin irritation or allergy. It's hard to say. Have the vet do a skin check. Baby's skin could just be dry. I can't answer you on the hair. I'm far from an expert as Gracie is my first Yorkie baby. I know what it feels like to be a first time anxious mom. Just ask questions, people here are really great. Hope to meet you at a meet-up sometime. Would love to see you post a pic of your new little one!

| Thanks so much! I figured it was one of those things...I guess I will just leave it to the Vet to tell me and hopefully I can fix the problem. I feel so bad seeing her itch! I do plan on going to meet-ups...are you part of the Seattle meet-up group? Is there a different one for YT'ers? Again, thanks!!! |
