| Petsitting Fees I have a question regarding the payment of petsitters for those of you who use them. Do your petsitters expect the FULL amount that they would be due up front? I've never heard of paying for services before they're rendered. I can understand maybe paying half of it up front b/c they have to pay for their gas with the price being so high now, but ALL of it? I'm just curious if this is common practice across the US.

| When I used a petsitter I believe there rules for new customers was they must pay first but established customers could pay afterwards. i petsit, mainly for people I'm friends with and they just pay me whenever. Which is okay with me, they haven't forgotten to pay yet.

| it depends if they are going to come into your home a few times a day, or stay in your home, o r in my case the sitter takes just one pet at a time into her home. It also depends on what services they will do , such as how many walks etc....but that is all included in mine. I think prices vary by community and age of server...teen or mature adult or a 'business".

| My petsitter charges $25 a day. She is coming into my house once a day. No walking or anything, since she's only going to be feeding my 2 cats and emptying (sifting) the litter box and feeding and watering my birds (2 small cages).

I have used her before when she was just starting out a couple of years ago, and she had to take care of my 2 large parrots also, but we never paid her up front and we always paid her (or left a check for her that was postdated for the day of our return) promptly. She just said that this is her "policy" now. That was in the days when she only charged me $30 a day for all the animals for twice daily visits (but gas has gone so crazy....).

| Here in CA, I've seen $25-50, and they take the dog into their house. I personally think $50 is a bit high. I always though you pay 1/2 up front and 1/2 at pickup but I could be wrong. |

| I'm sure glad I don't need a pet sitter. I'd go broke.
