My petsitter charges $25 a day. She is coming into my house once a day. No walking or anything, since she's only going to be feeding my 2 cats and emptying (sifting) the litter box and feeding and watering my birds (2 small cages).
I have used her before when she was just starting out a couple of years ago, and she had to take care of my 2 large parrots also, but we never paid her up front and we always paid her (or left a check for her that was postdated for the day of our return) promptly. She just said that this is her "policy" now. That was in the days when she only charged me $30 a day for all the animals for twice daily visits (but gas has gone so crazy....).
