| HELP, she is not listening!! Hey everyone-Dolce has really got me confused!! Since her spaying she has gone on the couch twice and maybe the wee wee pad twice...other than that, she is now either running under our couch and peeing or hiding from me so i dont see her and peeing somewhere she isnt allowed to. So i can never catch her to put her on the pad. What am i to do?? She was 100% trained to go on the pad before the spaying...the only accidents would be if she missed the pad by a little. Now, at first i thought it was incontinence, but she is hiding from me to do it, so i know its not that. Plus she has used the pad twice, she knows she is supposed to go there. Its very upsetting and frustrating, because she was trained. Is there any hope YT?? I sure hope so...i just love her so much but i dont want my house smelling like urine.

| Oh My.......I wanted to laugh when I read your post........but I know you are serious! It sound like she knows exactly what she is doing and that is why she is hiding when she does it........she must be quite a character! I was going to suggest maybe offering treats again for her pottying in the right spot, but if you can never catch her because she is hiding, I have no idea what you should do........sorry I'm no help!

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | The only help I can offer is just gently taking her to the pad over and over and giving her a treat if she uses it - no treat if she pees on the floor and maybe she'll remember her training....poor girl it's almost like they are telling us we were mean and this is the payback..... The other thing is to get you some Natures Miracle from Petco or Petsmart - it really helps with the smell...at least it did for me on my carpet |

| Tara, believe me i want to laugh too sometimes ...u would not even believe what a character she is!! I was trying to give her her medicine (antibiotic) this morning and would u believe she started hiding her face from me. She hid behind the pillows on the couch (she's only about 5 lbs.), and then when i would grab her, she would bury her face in my arms...smart as a whip but thats what is the problem sometimes!! She is smarter than me!! lol Its ok...hopefully, some other YTers have some advice for poor me... Maybe I will have to pen her up with just the wee wee pad when i take her out of her playpen in the morning until she goes. I would hate to do that, but I cant have the urinating everywhere.

| Melissa, that is too funny! I was reading what you were saying about her medicine. Zeus has to take Pepcid AC twice a day for pancreatitis and he is too smart about it! We have to put it inside a small peice of bread and put a little Karo syrup on it. I have tried many times not putting the syrup on it and he eats the bread and spits the pill right back out and just walks away! He is without a doubt the "boss!" But I just love him to pieces. I am sure your little one will be just fine, she is probably rebelling against the surgery. Good luck!!

| I feel so bad for you!!! Esme was spayed June 6 and we had a bad few days. She had an upset tummy and I would wake up to messes all over the floor and everywhere... They took out her stiches yesterday and she is pretty much back to normal. Does she have her stiches out yet?? My vet said that sometimes dogs bounce right back, and sometimes they don't feel right until the stiches are out. I think you should try to go back to day one with her. Keep her restricted to a small space and give her BIG REWARDS for making it on the pad. I am sure she will be back on track quickly. GOOD LUCK and I'll be thinking of you!

| Hey guys-isnt it funny how our babies act the same about certain things sometimes?? It cracks me up!!! I'm sure the taste of those pills is horrible...i wouldnt take it either...i make sure to give her a BIG treat after she takes it!! Oh, and no, she doesnt have the sticthes out yet. Do u think that could be the problem?? Maybe she is mad at me because of the medicine and the stitches. Well, I will try this weekend to keep her confined in a small space with the wee wee pad. Hopefully she will get back on track....Mon or tues is when the sticthes come out thank goodness!! U guys are such sweethearts and the absolute best!!

| wee wee acidents this usually helps take her back to her spot that she wee wee in and say no no... no..no bad girl and point to it them take a pee pad and wipe that area, the let her small the wee pad and tell her to pee. if this happens again repeat and then put in cage for a time out not attention at all. if still going under the furniture put a wee pad under there she will catch on again she is just probally sore from surg. and will take a couple of days to get back in to the swing of things...... good luck! |

| I think she feels she got hurt where you took her, and now she's a little bit angry. She can't take it out on the vet, so she picked you. They are so smart that know exactly what their doing. Sorry mom. Hope she's back to her old schedule soon. |

| Give her some time My Benni had a serious hospitalization following an accidental overdose and when he came home he was totally UNPOTTY TRAINED. It took about three weeks to get back to normal, and I never punished or scolded him, just acted like it was no big deal, and eventually I guess he decided that I had been punished enough and went back to his training. And better than Natures Miracle is stuff (at Petsmart) that is called "Get Serious" extractor. I swear by this stuff, I use it for petstains, upholstery, laundry stains, you name it. My DD colored her hair the other day and left some stains on one of my good towels, I soaked it with get serious an the stains are all gone. |

| If you potty trained her by penning her up, that would be my suggestion. Start over. Of course my vet never told me that my spayed girl wouldn't feel if she had to go as Dudley's Mom has said happened to her. So maybe it will just take time. Sylvia |
