| Storing wet food How long is a can of wet food good after you open it? It would be cheaper for me to buy the 13.2 oz cans but I didn't know how long you could keep it in the refrigerator. I do have lids for the cans that seal them pretty good.

| I transfer the food into a plastic container with a lid and store it in the fridge. One can usually lasts for 4 days.

| When we used to give Oliver wet food, we kept it for just a few days. I never had good luck with those lids that go on the can so I used to just put it in a Pyrex bowl with a lid and store it that way. |

| Thanks for the replies. I am going to put it in another container and I guess I will have to stick with the smaller cans. My puppy is only six pounds and I give him a little wet food in the morning with his kibble. A local pet store is selling the 13.2 oz cans of Merrick for $1.65 and thought that was a great deal. Maybe I should just get another puppy to use up the bigger can quicker.

| We buy the large cans of chicken soup. Put it in the refrigerator, then open it and cut it into slices. We keep two days and freeze the rest.

| I use the big (13 oz) cans for Max and since he gets 1/3 can per day, 1 can lasts 3 days. I don't have any problem storing it in the can in the fridge....I got some really nice lids at Petco...they fit either that size of can or I guess, the wider cans like cat food cans and they seal pretty well. I suppose if it's only 3 days it's not that big of an issue though....if your dog doesn't go thru a can that quickly.....it might be.

| I never thought about freezing it. That sounds like a great idea, I may have to try it!
