| Kalina met a baby boxer He was so adorable but he was only 6 weeks old!!! It was clear he didn't know how to act and wasn't with his mommy long enough to learn the basic rules of good behavior. Kalina, of course, seeing a dog her own size, almost killed herself wanting to play with him and the poor little boxer just started crying and growling at her. I didn't let her get close enough to touch him in any way. Could the little guy even be up-to-date on his shots? And there he was being paraded around a pet store. I wanted to say something to his parents about having him out so young, etc. They said they've had him for about a week because "that's the way they sell them in the South"! So, I was wondering, do you find it hard to keep your mouths shut, or do you use something like that as an opportunity to educate people? I can't stop thinking about this poor little guy ... hence this thread.

Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | hmm tough one, I worked in a pet store and I seen it all, very sad and yes it wears on ya. No he cannot be through his complete round shots, well he shouldnt be anyway. I have heard they really shouldnt be out and about until 16 weeks. Very scary and I understand you wanna say something but it could come off so rude or condescending, you never know how people will react. I usually kept my mouth shut. Not that it was easy but not worth the argument.....

| That's a tough call. You might have to really ask in a delicate way if the furkid had all it's shots yet. I don't think I would tell them they should have though, cause then they make get mad.

| I didn't say anything. The owners of the puppy were two young kids - just a couple in their late teens I would guess. They were so happy with the little guy. I just hope he grows up to be everything they hoped for.
