| Boobah took a flying leap!! Hello to everyone, something happened yesterday afternoon. Boobah, now age 5 mos 25 days, has learned to run up the first flight of stairs. But never has learned to come down. It had been very quiet while I was cleaning up in the kitchen. And usually boobah is right by my foot when Im doing so. I walked around calling her name and couldnt find her. I walked into the den and then looked up the staircase and she was on top yelpling that she wanted help down. So before I put one foot on the step going up, she took a flying leap and landed on the 9th step. I immediately picked her up and she started licking my face. She didnt yelp or cry when she landed but OMG what if she would hve broken a bone? I checked out her body, nothing hurt, Im telling you, she is going to age me before my time!!

| I'm going through the same exact thing. Kalina will only go up the steps from the yard into the house, but not down them. She won't tackle the inside stairs either up or down. To be honest, I'm not too anxious for her to start the inside steps because of what happened to you. They're just like little babies, you have to watch them so carefully.

| Molly took a flying leap out of the back of my husband's truck yesterday. His big dogs were in the back, and Molly thinks she can do anything they can do. When DH opened the door to give the big dogs a snack, they jumped out. I guess she's learned the word "snack", 'cos she came flying out off the tailgate behind them, onto the gravel driveway . I thought I was close enough to her so she wouldn't get out, but I guess I wasn't quick enough. She then bounded right up the stairs to get her snack, and had the zoomies all evening long, so I guess she's OK. But it sure scared me!! Carla |

| I find the best way to do it is to grab your dog by the collar, and walk it down the stairs Once they are confident doing that, pull them to walk with you, but stand infront of them so they dont fall. Works a treat |

| Avie won't go down our stairs either.. only up-we usually have it blocked off so we dont have to worry about her being somewhere she shouldnt-but if i dont see her and its not blocked off-i can always count on calling her name and finding her peeking at me from the top of the stairs-haha.

| That is my worst nightmare. I am so glad i taught him to wait for me. or that he is not to go down the stairs without me. Good thing my steps are outside. Ryo will just sit at the top of the stair case about a foot away when we are outside and just sit and wait for me... I would have been freaked out if he ever pulled the flying boobah stunt on me! |

| k off topic i know but it seems to me like alot of yorkies have the same quirks. how many of you have dogs that wont go out in the rain? lacey refuses to go out when its raining if we make her go out she sits in hte track for the sliding door and cries. she wont even go out to pee if its misting. all my other dogs non yorkies go out no problem.
