I'm going through the same exact thing. Kalina will only go up the steps from the yard into the house, but not down them. She won't tackle the inside stairs either up or down. To be honest, I'm not too anxious for her to start the inside steps because of what happened to you. They're just like little babies, you have to watch them so carefully.
