| "papers" ?? I bought my puppy about 6 weeks ago....lady said his papers will be mailed to me....when I recieved them I noticed they are ACA ...not AKC....I am new to all this, and I am in love with my Benji boy so I personally dont care what the "papers" say ....but I was thinking of breeding him ....does this change everything ?? I bought him for my companion, and thought someday Id like one of his pups.... I wasnt knowlegable about puppy mills at the time I bought him, but I now know I should have said No , but he gave me the "look" and I instantly fell in love ...and couldnt leave him there !!!! |

| You can still breed him, but most people are more familiar with AKC registration.

| If she didn't tell you that it wasn't AKC registration then there really isn't anything you can do. A lot of puppies are advertised as "registered" but aren't always AKC - there are so many unreputable registries out there. AKC and UKC are really the only reputable registries in the US. You can still breed your dog, but your puppy and its offspring will never be able to be registered with AKC. One good thing about being registered with AKC or UKC is that you can show your dog in comformation to make sure your dog is of quality to breed. Also, a lot of people will only buy AKC registered puppies.

| The same thing happened to me...when I recieved them I noticed they are ACA ...not AKC. I wasn't really concerned because I never intended to breed her. It's just the point that people advertise 'registered'. My fault for not asking I love her to pieces either way
